Same problem, center ice crashing.

I have an ecs motherboard with the sis chipset on it. Using an ati radeon 9500 pro. I am meticulous when it comes to keeping my computer clean, so I know it's not because of a clogged comp.

I wouldl like to get this fixed though... I also have a hauppauge tv tuner/sb live 5.1/firewire card.

<edit> Btw, I also have a usb keyboard.... Could this be the problem?

Works perfect for me, here's my setup:

ATI 9800 Pro 256MB
AMD Athlon 3200+
1 GB RAM
Win XP
ASUS K8N-E Deluxe
Creative Audigy LS

Newest CAT drivers installed.
Everything else with most up to ate drivers to my knowledge, runs at 1600 X 1200 with everything maxed.

Hope that info may help someone...

Maybe those crashing issues has to do with the lack of support of SSE or SSE 2 instructions, like it's the case, for instance, with Athlon Thunderbirds processors. But , if that's the case, will EA be prompted to release a patch like other gaming companies generally do when they find out that some users are left apart..

I'm tearing it up in the online ring right now. I'm ranked 22nd with a rating of almost 1700. I had a 12 game winning streak going, but I played the same guy 3 times in a row and he got lucky and beat me in OT in the final game. It's more fun playing online than anything. The games really suck you in and get you right into it.

There is a patch on ea's ftp server, ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/easports/patches/nhl06/en-us/nhl06patch-na.exe

people with problems might want to give it a try.

Does anyone know if you can change the music in this version. In 2003-5 you could use a tool that converted mp3s to another fileformat. It seems that in this version all music is baked into one big file.

that was posted a while ago and didnt do a thing. actually it doesnt say anywhere what it really fixes, maybe its just a worthless beta patch since its not mentioned on the EA site.

Something strange with the crack version. On my A643400, 6800 setup, it works fine, although I only see a split second of the EASPORTS animation logo at the start. On my Internet machine (Sempron 2400, 9700pro), the into screen optionsdon't appear, so you can't play the game. I don't know whether this is a dodgy crack issue, or my hardware not being compatible. I think the crack replaces the protected game loader, but I think it hasn't been cracked properly, and only works on certain systems. Does anybody have a Mini-Image for this game?

Damn this game is realistic.

I was skating into the Red Wings zone with Sundin and took a slap shot that went off Chelios' shin and the guy went down like a sack of shit and had to be helped off the ice.

Also, I had a goalie get a delay of game penalty for playing the puck too far out of the net.

Nice little touches Smile

The game is great but I have only one gripe. The AI can be
really cheesy. For example, you'd be amazed how many times
the computer scores with like 3 seconds left. I guess I have to
adjust the settings. Great game though.

Well, game is really nice.

Think i will have to get a little more constant with my play Smile
acutally playing on medium.
Just had it 2-4 with devils vs. sabres and 0:56 left in last period (5 minutes per period)
Well yeah won the game 5-4 without overtime *lol*
3-4 and 4-4 with goaly out.

Vsync, turn it on or set it to "application...." and it will work.
I had the exact same problem with both the demo and the full, and vsync fixed it.

I love the realism. The speed bursting is done PERFECTLY. Have to use it sparingly, and the rest of the time its slower skating. Opens the ice up, and allows for awesome plays. I also love cuts in the ice of the skates on turns and when speeding up. God it's such a great version this year. If any of you guys bought it, play with me online sometime. My name in game is CamChojnacki.

Just want to make sure it'll run as good as 2005 did Wink

Yup, he refused to play for team Canada so he is a bitch. I also hate Lindros, cause he refused to play for the Nordiques, I ain't fond of the frenchies but still, you play where your drafted you dick.

Agreed, you speed burst and the puck starts to get away from you so it's easier to get it taken away. The hits are more realistic this year, ice is nice, and my favourite part of the whole game has to be the highlight reels they show between periods.

I wish they added more to the dynasty mode though...
