Valve announced the release date for DoD: Source to be Sept 26th.

Pre-loading/pre-ordering begins next week.

Silver/Gold purchasers will get the mod for free and can pre-load today I believe, and will be able to play when it becomes available.

Yay for my gold purchase. Razz

Who needs this now that BF2 is out?
WW2 Counterstrike...oh yea that's real fun I bet Smile

I grabbed the Silver version of HL2 JUST for this title...but that was like 10 months ago. Fuck Valve.

I'll give it a try, simply because I paid for it, but I'm not expecting much at all unfortunatley. It's clear Valve put the development of this on the backburner and could care less, which is unfortunate.

Ah well, it may have a saving grace in there somewhere. We'll see...

A lot of people.

Probably more fun than BF2. No joke. The fact that you don't have to trek across a map for 10 minutes or wait for a vehicle only for it to be hijacked means fun. And the gameplay is more intense. Modern warfare = Boring.

Yeah, it got delayed a couple times... if they delay this, even though it's dated, a lot of people are going to scream. Fuck Valve, slightly/

Wrong. The reason it's been in development for so long is because they tuned it to perfection.

Ah well, it may have a saving grace in there somewhere. We'll see...

Day of Defeat is completely different to Battlefield series. Completely. This infantry combat in the counter-striker mould. Battlefields infantry combat is woeful.

Preloading already, but there wasn't such thing as buying it(gold package). I can't remember the exact line but it was something like "you already bought from your steam package" or something...

Preloading of Day of Defeat: Source will begin next week. It will be released and ready to play on September 26th. Once we get closer to that date, we'll set an exact time for when we'll "throw the switch."

Preloading the game allows people to have the entire game on their hard drive in encrypted form so that, if already purchased or pre-ordered, it will be playable at the moment it is released. Dedicated server administrators will also have some time to get their servers up and running before the 26th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also some pretty exciting news on the MOD front, where the team over at Dystopia is preparing to release a demo of their game today at 11:59 GMT. Head on over to the Dystopia page to check out their release.

Anyone may pre-load the game free of charge and decide to purchase at any time. Those who pre-purchase the game before it is released will save 10%. To pre-load, pre-purchase or just find out more, please visit www.steampowered.com.

If you think of DOD:S as a mod, you should do the same for CSS...Besides, you could get DOD:S free if you payed the extra $10 for silver...and you bought CSS as well, what the price was for HL2 was not only for HL2.
