I'm still sitting tight and waiting for a while until they sort out the build quality. |
Yes, the black's back has no smudge and finger print protection. But I'm still staying away from any plastic back covers or cases because they instantly ruin the feeling you get from holding this device in your hand. Maybe if they make those ultra-mega-thin ones that are available for Iphone 5 I'll try them.

people complaining about sense ui lol, it's an Android phone, who here even uses anything stock?
Had a Samsung, never again. Friends had a Samsung, never again. For a company who has a lot of awesome tech, they sure as fuck don't know how to build a phone.
but in the US it's not coming to Verizon or US Cellular? Are they fucking retarded? Everyone's abandoning AT&T because their insane cunts, T-Mobile isn't the the greatest and Sprint? Give me a break, they have the worst data speeds.

Well I switched to One only because of exceptional amazing build (first time in years!) and - finally - a decent battery. My previous HTC a few years ago was a Sensation - just the same plastic soapbox as everything else. And since then I had Samsungs only - NoteI, S3, Note II.
So what I wanna say is that both brands had phones built like plastic crap but Samsung had superior battery time, amazing cameras etc. HTC never had a better build IMO.

I've only had 1 HTC and it's the Thunderbolt and has been by far my favorite Android phone so far. Built like a tank, it's quick for what I need to do with it and doesn't have a massive screen so it's a little more compact and the screen is great.

Samsung had not much options in design, the screen got bigger but they wanted the same size as a S3.

What do you mean? Were they forced to make the S4 look like the S3?

Yet it felt better in hand then the S2 did at that moment, sure it felt heavier, but it felt like you had something sturdy in your hands.
That was the deciding factor for me back then between the S2 and Sensation and why i bought the Sensation back then
Tho now the One S Black feels really nice aswell, even tho it's HTC's thinnest phone (7.8mm) it feels really solid and not like it's going to break at any moment.

One reason only, so they can register that you unlocked your device and have it on record when you send it back for repairs.

that doesnt explain shit. they may register me while unlocking the bootloader. who cares?
but why do they provide you with the option to unlock the bootloader and in the meantime the device has S-ON hboot and write protected kernel? this does not make sense if you let users unlock their bootloader in the first place to come to a point that you still cant do shit as S-ON is enabled and kernel is write protected
HTC became crap since January 2013. nothing more, nothing less. stay far far far away from this crap!!

They give you the option to unlock the phone, but you'll void your warranty. That's why the phone is S-ON and you'll have to register to get it unlocked. You void your warranty, but the option is there.

unlocking the bootloader (via the site) is not the same as putting the device from S-ON to S-OFF!!!! it's completely unrelated.
new HTC's with unlocked bootloader still have S-ON protection enabled!! it's pure scam and they will lose a lot of interest by the android community. they deserve it, fuck HTC

If you are smart enough to unlock bootloader, then you obviously can do s-off as well.
So far, every single HTC device i had, i managed to put custom rom/kernel/firmware etc on.
So donno what device is causing you so much problems, or you are just here to rant about it while not even owning a HTC device. But all so far are unlocked for full customization, you just need to think a little and not be stupid.

old HBOOT can be exploited, latest version 2.0000 not yet
why would HTC allow someone to unlock the bootloader but not disabling S-ON?? it just doesnt make sense. you guys supporting this is a clear example of your lack of understanding
the device is a HTC One SV...

S-ON afair protects the boot sector but not in bootloader, so you have to flash a boot.img from the bootloader when s-on, s-off unlocks everything so you can flash even the boot.img from recovery ect..
and as said they let you unlock the bootloader from their site so they tell if you voided warranty by unlocking.

lol if you think i lack of understanding Android devices and what they can or cannot do with unlocked bootloader and s-off/on then w/e
anyway, you just bought a shitty device that virtually nobody else bought, the thing ain't even on A.. Should had gotten the One S instead.. why go for such a basic model anyway?

the device is on XDA and is already partially hacked despite being quite new... seriously troll somewhere else. i did not expect a decent answer from 'baby face with angry dog'
what does it matter how much it costs? just stfu if you cannot add anything with value. htc changed policies recently and is screwing all their customers with their new devices. xda devs will leave htc if they will continue like this....
if you let your customers unlock the device, at least let them fully unlock the device. HTC honestly became piece of shit company. same with HTC releasing their source code with at least 2 months delay which is clearly against GPL
and yes, you lack understanding. your post again proves this. idiot
wow sausje root'ed several HTC devices and has to be considered the android master. let's all praise sausje.

Just let me get this right: You complain that HTC actually give you some possibility to unlock the device, instead of nothing? So all the other manufacturers that do not provide a possibility to unlock the bootloader are ok, but HTC ist not, because they prohibit further unlocking? Would it be ok for you if HTC disn't allow you to do anytthing from the getgo like on many orher devices?
I seriously have to believe you are the one trolling here, or you are just pissed off that you spent money on a device that does not allow what you were hoping for...

So while it might have a topic or 2, they don't have their own section yet, which means the device ain't on there officially

It matters a lot if you expect things from it that (after buying it ) can't do what you want.
manu_xl wrote: | just stfu if you cannot add anything with value. htc changed policies recently and is screwing all their customers with their new devices. xda devs will leave htc if they will continue like this.... |
Lol no devs from A don't skip HTC flagships or smaller versions from it, they might leave devices that virtually nobody will buy out of them yeah, like yours, but they won't leave the company that got them started behind
More bullshit from troll_xl
Oh and btw: [S-Off] Facepalm S-Off for One SV (K2_U, K2PLC_LC, K2_UL)
Same few copy/paste commands and files that i used for my One S, that req. no actual knowledge of stuff and even a child can do, yet you complain about it when HTC doesn't provide you an even easier solution?
