Gameplay is very, very shallow, that's for sure, and I personally found the story to be all hype. It was however very pretentious. Perfect game for snobs.

10MB Update is out.
Seems only .exe was updated
Why they call it update 4 since only 1 update was out?

Yes you are right. I guess i was still sleeping when checked. The same files in CookedPCConsole_FR were updated except Engine.xxx.uncompressed_size file

They say it may bring stability problems and if it does we switch back to Update 3. But there was only one update out Laughing

From Demde's link above:

Quote:
CHANGES INCLUDED IN PATCH 4

1) Improvements to help reduce frame-rate "hitching" or "stuttering" that may occur when playing the game on some hardware configurations.

NOTE: Frame-rate consistency is best when playing with the Graphics Option titled "Lock Framerate" set to ON (i.e. v-sync enabled).

2) Fix some users being unable to switch the Texture Detail option to any setting other than Low or Very Low.

NOTE: Users should now have all options available to them. However, playing on extremely high resolutions and/or detail levels can result in texture artifacts if the video card does not have enough video RAM to fully satisfy the memory requirements of that configuration. If this occurs, reducing resolution, graphics quality, and/or texture detail may help alleviate these artifacts.

3) Adjustments to the Mouse Sensitivity option to facilitate lowering sensitivity further

NOTE: This may cause changes to mouse sensitivity for existing players, requiring them to re-adjust sensitivity.

4) Fix for the Nav-Aid occasionally suggesting that the player use a Sky-Line that is not currently available for use.

5) Fix for a rare crash when using a Sky-Line Strike attack on a Handyman.

6) Fix for an issue that may cause checkpoint progress to become inaccessible and appear to be lost.

7) Changes to improve overall game stability.

I guess the DLC must be coming soon as it seems odd for them to wait 2 months to fix these known issues that have plagued this game since release or maybe with E3 coming up at least now they can say they fixed some of the problems people were having when talking to the press.

Started playing this last night and im dissapointingly underwhelmed right now. Its pretty much an outdated shooter packed in a wonderfuly detailed graphics/art design package. not even the 1999 mode can save the core of the game being so simple. Its basically Heretic 1 in modern times. a doom clone with magic added on top of pea shooters Laughing

WIll play through it most likely but its not a good sign when I decide to go to bed instead of pulling an all nighter. Basically the experience is all thats keeping me playing, but the FPS gameplay is just so dated and uninspired.

It seems my shock series rating will remain unchanged: ss2, ss1, bio 2, bio 1 and infinite at the far far last Laughing

There is, but saving is kinda tricky. You must enter the latest save path in .ini file every time you start.

I just finished it today (yeah i know, taking care of my backlog lol), and i gotta say the gameplay is kinda sucky, the weapons uninspired, with the exception of some (wtf with the machinegun/burstgun/the other one, all looking the same?), but the story is just awesome, it was worth every minute, even dealing with subpar gameplay.

Story drives this game, nothing else. Graphics are reused over and over, but it has a 'style' unlike any other FPS shooter, and that's all it is really, a glorified FPS Wink

It hooks ya coz of the story though, even though it makes no sense at times, but still one of my top games ATM.

Finished it last night and I do agree. It was worth playing through. the atmosphere, story presentation and the art style were worth dealing with outdated fps gameplay.

but as a shock game its the weakest one overall for me, even though there were soe really awesome parts after the weak start of the game.

dunno if it was because of p2p last update, but I had memory leak issues after long periods of play time. after a while the game would start freezing while i would look around. a restart would fix it but it was a bit distracting.

Seems like there's some issue with AMD Never Settle keys for this being exploited. There's a thread on SteamGifts about how Valve are revoking copies that belong to Never Settle coupons that were taken advantage of.

Quote:
Certain bulk sets of Bioshock Infinite keys are being deactivated, pending review. The issue seems to be the method that they were activated from the AMD promo -- instead of users activating them directly, they needed to email the distributor for the code. So it appeared like a single individual was activating a series of codes. Digital Green Tech was one company affected, but apparently there are others as well.

A quick question to the wise, I've just won Bioshock Infinite (So Much Win), do I need to have played the previous 2 games to get any plot points or such?

I played about an hour of Bioshock 1 when it first came out, so I know the rough mechanics, but never finished it. I've deliberately not read this thread or anything else related to Bioshock in fear of spoilers, so I know virtually nothing about this game (or any of the previous ones either).

Nope! Bioshock Infinite is a completely separate, standalone, story set 40 years before the events of BS/BS2. The story isn't even completely related.

I do intend to, I'm not sure what happened really. I remember being awestruck by the water effects at the time, but I stopped playing for some reason (thinking back, it may have been because I was also playing Oblivion) and I just never got back to playing it Sad

I'll probably do a speed run of the game if I complete Infinite.

Is that because you believe it's a better game or because it works better narratively (even though Sabin has confirmed that they have unrelated plot points)?
