There isn't really any positioning with low frequencies. That's why when you have a subwoofer you could easily think that the bass is coming from your speakers and not from the direction of wherever it is at. Unless it's right in your face... which I suppose is one of the reasons not to put it in front of you.

But yeah, it doesn't look like you have a lot of space for it there.
