I am not questioning amd hardware but there is definitely issue on software end either in AMD or game developer corner. First they must make sure regular setups work properly in terms of performance and then I wanna see a proper tweaked cp profile for crossfire if possible.

This is a TWIMTBP game, meaning that nVidia made sure that the developers don't work with AMD to resolve such issues before launch. AMD was deliberately kept in the dark to fail and provide positive PR for nVidia.

No, this is not an anti-nVidia rant. AMD did the same thing with the last Tomb Raider. It's a dirty game that AMD and nVidia like to play and the only way to stop it would be do blame the other company - in this case nVidia - and make sure that they are the ones being ridiculed.

Developers tweet seems to indicate they dont care that much about AMD problems:

Quote:
The "when" is up to AMD but it's also something being worked on.
Basically they seem to be pointing fingers at AMD to maybe update the drivers.

Original Metro runs better on AMD cards (that is Nvidia title aswell), i would expect the same for this one after driver update, since this is same engine. There is nothing that Nvidia does better in technical side on this one, expect PhysX.

AFAIK that only became true after the 69XX series were out.
Which was a bit after the game's release, I think?

another amdbot... have you stopped to think that it's out of developers hands, and maybe, just maybe, it's your precious amd to blame here?

It was pretty good from day 1 I think. Don't I remember well? Thus there's no reason to believe this time it will be different for the non-sponsored brand.

Yeah it was, but after Never Settle there was insane performance boost for 1440p + resolutions. You could basically add 4XMSAA for free, and still have same performance than without on previous drivers with a single 7970 Very Happy

Everyone is way too busy discussing performance and AMD vs nVidia, kinda sad really Very Happy

If you really despise linear shooters no matter what and the atmosphere doesn't make it up for you, then you won't like it even later in the game, I doubt it suddenly gets open-ended. Comparing this to CoD is a bit of a stretch though Razz

i read here earlier, that it was on by default for amd lol. Maybe they mixed it up Smile (i.e. nvidia off, amd on, they patched that, but obviously not for the crack hehe)

Was off for me, but depends on what you did in benchmark (with in mind that most prolly run that first), since the benchmark settings are being taken ingame as well. So what you change there, changes ingame.

Tho adv physx where off anyway right from the start here.

Great game. Should be more like this. I like good linear story with AMAZING graphics. I dont think nextgen consoles games will even look this good.

and besides glitchy shadows it was a solid performance here.

edit: Graphics are downright cg level on some moments. I love their type of fxaa used and object motion blur. Also -best textures ever.

And glory be to the Best textures ever (nvidia humanhead demo looks like crap now) - BEWARE - it might be a slight spoiler of ending. Don't read the subtitle in that image Razz

oh and this shot - this shot looks cg like for me. and it's totally ingame

This game has the most ground breaking use of PhysX yet (and quite frankly, something that should have been implemented a LONG time ago) - bouncing titty PhysX on the showgirls!
