Ok i don't know what the problem is..but i have just put on the mask and got to the surface for the first time and the game locks up after approximately 20 seconds every time..and i already mentioned another little problem a few posts up..don't know if it is the crack problem or game..i am using RELOADED version of the game by the way...

what gpu and driver ? I had that issue with my 660ti and the 320.00 drivers. Uninstalling them and installing the (made for metro) 320.14 drivers resolved that.

Thanks yea I was a bit stupid, I realized the other rld thing was just a notice why their release wasnt the main release even though it works better than flt. So with rld release I assume ranger mode works fine based on what I have been reading?

Same here on an MSI 660Ti PE. Beta drivers installed. Seems to be some sort of problem with tesselation. With it on normal I've gotten far fewer crashes and no longer in specific spots. Annoying but managable since the game is full of checkpoints.

I played on brothers rig PhysX on, the fog looks exactly the same without, also it behaves retarded when PhysX on. Debris is also there when you shoot bookshelves etc.. does not really look that much different, only some little particles stays on ground (cement pieces and sparks).

Just tried it for an hour or so after a busy day, I've been positively impressed so far. The fact that I'm able to run it smoothly at High details/1080p was definitely a nice surprise (the Very High + AA & PhysX combo on the other hand kills my PC, but since the visuals are only slightly better and the huge performance hit isn't justified -> I'll just pretend they don't exist Razz ).

Shooting feels solid enough, same for the story/dialogues and atmosphere, and the graphics are obviously impressive (especially the textures) although the levels are a bit limited just like in the previous game.

The FOV on the other hand is atrocious Mad , but apparently 4A Games will release that partial fix soon so..fingers crossed. It feels like Metro, which is what counts, though I need to play more to say something about the stealth mechanics (hopefully they'll be improved as well). Very Happy

You could try it. I have 660Ti overclocked too, if you choose to underclock it I recommend using NVIDIA Inspector - unlike MSI Afterburner/EVGA precision and other you don't need to install anything. Worked for me to fix Crysis 3 crashes Smile I didn't try Last Light yet as I'm still playing original metro 2033 before I move on to the new.

Dear Reloaded

We want to reply to your picky, very unique interpretation of today's Metro
Last Light release.

First of all you say that our release could fit a DVD9. In Metro LL, with
your strong setup compression, you made it to save exactly that some MB, to
make it fit a DVD9. Congratulations
What would have happened otherwise or some months ago, when you used no
compression for the setup? Correct, you would have used the Bluray format.
Since that format was never discussed or included in any rule set, we prefer
to use DVD's if you dont mind. And if we need two, we release two
Our release has compressed rar files as required. In "Dishonored" or "Cities
in Motion 2" you did not use any compression for your setup, which is no
problem, as there is no rule for that. So what happened today? You now use a
compression, does that mean everyone have to start too?

The "freezing" installer, is what we released the readme for. The message
box can be closed easily and the setup continues.
A wrong command line for a PhysX installation, that can be run manually by
the user as described in our additional install note, should not require a
group to repack their whole release, or would YOU do so

At last you make it sound, that the Ranger mode and other stuff is part of
the regular game. It is not, it is categorized under DLC content. Going
by your interpretation, every game has to have every available DLC unlocked.
Have a look at your Walking Dead release. Following your arguments, there
should be Walker Herd Survival Pack pre-activated. But it is not. Why

Motivated by your words, we give everyone a guide on how to modify the
registry for DLC's for a FLT release. If people want to enable the buggy
and often still in "beta" phase extra content, no guarantees how well it
runs, parts can be not even released yet, so its pure "hack hack" to attempt
to activate it prematurely, and its pure luck if it works satisfactory.
Obviously the scene wants, that all content is accessable, that there is no
need to support the software companies if one like the game and would buy
it to get more extras

Interesting FLT response. Here's RLD's

Quote:
Metro: Last Light *Read Nfo* (c) Deep Silver
05/2013: RELEASE.DATE .. PROTECTION: Steam: DISC(S) .. GAME.TYPE: Action

Notes:

We pre'd within a minute of FLT because we were busy testing, a step they
obviously optimized away

Anyway. FLT release is a mess; an installer that seems to freeze at the end
of installation, unnecessarily split into 2 DVDs while it could easily fit
on a single DVD9. More importantly, the Ranger Mode along with other Limited
Edition content is locked when using their crack. All data files in the two
releases are identical, so it is the crack

It used to be that first complete and working release on sites won. Now it's
first to pre or last to proper/read.nfo. So here you have it

Wow it seems this game runs so inferior on AMD that makes me laugh hard. AMD better get their act together and release beta drivers or new cp profiles for metro FAST or game may need an update?

Btw, whats the difference between hardcore and ranger mode? Is AI acting differently between them?

I never even played 2033 lol. At one point i bought 4 copies (or 3 ?) for me and for our sg group, but never got around to play it. I always thought it was like STALKER, but i guess i was wrong as can be Smile

This game is the opposite of STALKER in terms of freedom, but atmosphere-wise, I'd say they're pretty close.. Which is a good thing Razz

The performance of a single game speaks nothing of the quality of AMD's graphics cards. Remember when Dragon Age 2 was unplayable on NV's cards first time it came out (to top it off, it had missing or corrupted textures as well on a wide range of the 500-series of cards). Yes, it was quickly fixed by NV, but such a situation can happen to either of the two major desktop-card companies. Now we have an even more fresh example with Grid 2 with initial benchmarks showing AMD cards owning by a 20+ fps margin in comparison to their competitors. So, let's not jump to hasty conclusions of the quality of a certain hardware piece based on its performance in a single software product... Rolling Eyes

I am not questioning amd hardware but there is definitely issue on software end either in AMD or game developer corner. First they must make sure regular setups work properly in terms of performance and then I wanna see a proper tweaked cp profile for crossfire if possible.

Tho there is some cases like Grid 2 where performance cannot be pretty much better, since lack of compute power (Nvidia). Metro in the other hand doesnt have anything to do with directcompute. Also that graph is pure crap, i havent never saw fps go below 50 on my setup (1100/1500 clocks tho so somewhat faster than 7990) and this is at very high 2560x1440.
