dont get out much, been sick and living off my retirement plan, and taking massive penalty for it. but anyways I realized my wallet was missing and tore the house apart looking for it, and called the few places id been, and nothing. Well I did look in the trash a bit, but it was in a panic mode, then later took it out to the bin. I was sick inside because it had 800 dollars in it my ID cards the lot, and I had only change in my pockets. Called the grocer and went to my former address which was on my ID and nothing, barely slept all night and was trying to trigger coping mechanisms to not freak out. Well I got to thinking today, that I might have not looked in the trash well enough, and that was about 10 muinets before the truck comes, I decided to go dig the bag out and give it another look in a last ditch effort, not expecting results. Lo and behold the wallet was in a small paper sack inside the bag, first thing I grabbed. My best guess is it got knocked off the bed stand into a paper sack near the bed. Holy shit I was having chest pains and everything over it.

Last week my wife left her iPhone5 on the top of the car roof. The next day I drove along the freeway till I saw a mangled, cracked and fucked up iPhone 5 case.

With smartphones, losing them is a big concern of mine since they hold so much personal info and have almost zero protection. Sure, Google added protection where you have to enter your password and you can even have GPS activated when lose it so you can find it back but still ... . Chrome contains a lot of passwords to sites I go to which DO give access to my credit card. I never let it save the passwords but by syncing with my desktop it does it anyway <.< I have yet to find a way to make it not sync them to my phone.

I've found my wallet in the fridge, on the way to put the milk in the bathroom etc... I have days when I am extremely absent-minded and do weird stuff like that so nowadays I have a round in my apartment I follow every time I can't find something important like keys, wallet, phone etc.

I did the exact same thing ages ago with my old Nokia 5210 , the one covered by indestructible rubber. I'm sure that it survived though, the cars on the other hand..

There's an easy trick to avoid this - have a dedicated spot for your keys, wallet etc. where you ALWAYS put them (and not just 'somewhere on the table', I mean an exact spot, a small shelf or something just for those items). You'll never lose or misplace them after it becomes routine.
