In case you still use MiJ idiotic interface, this is the new alternative which uses the MiJ driver but connects to it from a native windows application. The author is a great guy who keeps updating it and fixing whatever errors that chinese greaseball did on his driver. Laughing

Hahaha, funny you should post this bud Smile

I first recommended your tool... then it progressed..... to Better DS3 Very Happy I'm now able to ditch MiJ's interface, use v7 driver, and not have that horrid memory leak. Even better; now my PS3 pad automatically identifies as "360 Game Controller" on Windows bootup and at every pad insert Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Love h4wkeye for finding this.

lol what a coincident.. I was thinking on posting this in the emu thread, but wasn't sure so I opened a new thread here.

Glad you enjoy it and that v7 now works for you. I hope this guy fixes some deficiencies in the driver because it just cries for it. Smile

For some reason, it was always the v7 version of DS_Tool that I had memory issues with. For all I know it might have been the calling-home/ad bullshit :\

Don't worry, I plan to! I only installed it yesterday so it's at the latest version already Smile Thanks again for your app, by the way, it was never your tool that had issues - it was v7 in general Smile

As much as I prefer the sticks, triggers and layout of the 360 controller .. I mainly play games that use the d-pad and for that it's a no contest for the PS3 one Very Happy It's a damned sham the play'n'charge kit doesn't function as a proper USB cable though, instead you're suckered into that "wireless receiver" nonsense.

Okay, MiJ driver has started causing BSODs on Windows 10 for me now. I've used MiJ for *years* and never had a single issue with the driver itself, but now Windows is throwing up BSODs and I don't like it Sad Does anyone know of an alternative to the MiJ driver *but* it absolutely has to support remapping. This is critical, absolutely not optional and it's not up for consideration or debate grinhurt I need to be able to switch my analogue/dpad/triggers at will, for any reason, at any time. BetterDS3 offers me that functionality and I cannot use the controller without it.

Everyone raves about Scarlet.Crush's DS3/DS4 service tool but I can't see any form of configuration with it, nor remapping functionality, it simply seems to operate directly as a 360 controller and that's that.. which is sadly insufficient. Yes Janz, I play retro games and those retro games need dpad, not "POV HAT" as the 360 controller identifies as, Progress© has no place here! Razz

 Spoiler:

Thanks in advance to anyone that knows and can help Smile

~edit~

SCP has now got a built in profile manager which lets you activate profiles for any kind of remapping you want to do. Triggers and buttons.

... but not left analogue stick and d-pad. Nope. No switching there. There's HALF switching, you can map "LX" (the entire axis... as in... left and right at the same time Facepalm) to ONE direction on the dpad, but not axis to opposing buttons.

I gave up. The only "solutions" I could find are using xpadder or x360ce *alongside* SCP and that's just pointless crazy shit. Trade one single do-all tool for several, one of which requires manual installation into the game folder of every single game I'd need to use the dpad/triggers for? What in the seven hells is that horsecrap about? Meh. Pass. I just reinstalled MiJ/BetterDS3 and be damned with the BSODs ("unable to verify timestamp so we'll shut your machine down because we're super smart and oh-so clever!") because I can't do without digital triggers or dpad functionality. If only SCPmapper would actually *split* the stick axis like every other tool... why just "LX" or "LY"? Why not "LX+" and "LX-" instead? That would have worked fine.. but nooooooo, that's just too simple apparently Rolling Eyes

BetterDS3 is fantastic, it's just a shame the followup/forked tool, DS4Windows/InputMapper, doesn't support DS3 controllers as they have their own driver set and don't use/need MiJ Sad I still keep looking around for a cheap DS4 but egh, they're like friggin' Intel procs; they keep their prices.

I'm using the Scarlet Crush xinput wrapper after the other tools just not doing what I wanted it to do or being fricking flaky.

So can't help much :/

If SCP at least had separation of the axis it wouldn't be so bad, but nope, fuck you Sabin.

I don't want to jinx myself, but it does seem my MiJ BSODs have stopped. I got sick of struggling with SCP, so I reinstalled MiJ (including the bluetooth driver) in Test Mode this time and it's been a few days now with no issues. Fingers crossed eh? Test Mode + watermark remover seems to be doing the trick.
