Yep seems like it requires v7.1001 >.< Also, for some reason, selecting PCSX input doesn't let you configure or anything the controller. Maybe it auto configures.

http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/15/dev-team-reverse-engineers-wii-u-gamepad-to-reveal-its-secrets/
Quote: | Nintendo’s Wii U GamePad has been reverse-engineered by the same team that created the Dolphin emulator, and the exercise has unearthed some interesting developments about the device’s upgradable firmware and more.
Eurogamer reports that the test found Nintendo’s pad to be upgradable via firmware updates, and that current Wii U firmware can already support two GamePads, which is a feature Nintendo has said will come down the line.
Developer Pierre Bourdon shed light on what this could mean for the future of the device, stating, “The firmware of the chip handling communication with the GamePad (called DRH) can be upgraded, so this might be in Nintendo’s future plans. Only speculation though, we didn’t see anything in the firmware that would indicate they are planning to do this”.
Here’s a video of the team emulating the Wii U GamePad on PC, courtesy of mema |

They always were playable at 60FPS if you have 4,0+GHz corequad/i7 CPU.
As for the glitches - no, there is still no post-processing available and probably never will be (if gabest can't make it work - no one can) so you will have to use skiphack==2 to disable it (there will be no fog and some barely noticeable special effects). Or, well, try software rendering, it works faster with Haswell arch and AVX2.

There is no 3DS emulator.
Best NDS emulator is DesMume, it is still in active development.

Has anyone tried MAMEHub yet? Apparently there is a new version out and supports online play for Arcade games as well as many old consoles (genesis,tg-16,nes,snes,ps1,n64,amiga).
If this beats Kaillera for online play, which is no longer actively developed/supported, it could be good.
I only discovered it by accident on Youtube.

Ahoy there. Since I've not been following emulation for months/years now, I'll just be lazy and ask.
What's the best way to play FF6, improved if possible, on PC? I mean "improved" as in graphically, not gameplay changes. I was always under the impression this was also released for PC, that seems not the case sadly.

I guess you could try a PS1 emulator, ePSXe, see how it looks on it.

If you want proper pixel stretching and a much improved 2D look, snes9x is the way to go, just enable the 2x supersai(I think) mode/filter, vertical since and a couple more small improvements.
inb4 sabine with the proper answer, anyway

No PC version I'm afraid and since it's sprites the only "improvements" you can do is filtering -- and a lot of the filtering, such as 2xSai or HQ2x, ruins the overall look of the sprites themselves, though admittedly that's subjective Just stick to bSNES/zSNES and play it either stock or at the most, 25% scanlines. The GBA version is terrible by the way, it has additional content like extra bosses/espers/dungeons, but has awful slowdown, washed out visuals and a terrible remixed soundtrack and a dodgy retranslation (though that depends on how you feel about Ted Woolsey's original works) The colour brightness, the translation and the soundtrack can be fixed (albeit in peasant mono and not glorious stereo) via IPS patching but the slowdown won't be. It's really bad
Stay away from the awful PS1 version too. The FMVs aren't worth the loading times (LOADING TIMES! ) nor the slow down in battles and menus, much like the GBA one.
~edit~
Don't just take my word for it either;

FF6? There were few re-releases on GBA, DS and PSP later, some of them has improved graphics while game is the same. Will this do? All of them I think can be emulated, not sure about PSP's one and its compatibility.
