Theres just as much, if not more, strategy involved in turn based RPG fighting, compared to 'real time fighting'.

FF7 is 1 of the games i spent the longest on. The combat wasnt annoying but when travelling in fields then randomly you'd have to battle. It was usually quicker to just kill them than run away too. but yea to get across a field after having 20+ fights only to find its the wrong way is REALLY annoying.

That maybe so, but if you have any experience playing FF games, you know that sometimes you face certain bosses that are way higher than you in lvl, hp, mana.... and so on...making them almost impossible to beat when you have progressed the game on a normal pace without the hardcore asianRPGfanboy fucking, also a realtime combat system is always more fun and exciting than a turnbased combat system.

Yeah I agree, I prefer real time fighting, especially when you get those cheap uber bosses that do 9999 dmg to your whole team in one move, and then they just keep doing it over and over.
At least in real time fighting, if a boss is a massive uber bastard, you can avoid his attacks or something.
What I hate about alot of that turn based stuff is that the enemies are invisible, so you have no chance to avoid them. Plus, the environments just don't fit with the enemies the majority of the time. Like you're walking through a corridor and encounter a cannibal tree beast or something.
In for example, Gothic, all the enemies are in the environments you would expect them to be in, so you know if you're walking into a forest at night, you're likely to encounter a shadow beast. But it's your choice to do that.

Im not saying there isnt dude
Its just boring and shit to me. I like to ya know, jump over the guy, slash him quick time and cast a spell on him rather than pushing a button that does it, and just sittin back and watching it.
Just not my taste ya know?

Exactly, very well said.
It's pure bullshit that the game takes such huge leaps with bosses from easy to mediocre-hard to fucking unbeatable and not being able to avoid the attacks heh..

I used to be really into the FF games and RPGs but now I'm not really into them as much. I've had FFX since it came out and put like 40 hrs into it and I still haven't beaten it yet. I've kinda lost intrest in long games and turn based games. Don't have the time anymore.

yea its the same for me, i played almost every japanese rpg available for psx and snes, when it comes to ps2 i m very picky. i just dont have the time anymore, i used to spent 50+ hrs on every single rpg, always tried to unlock everything. nowadays i prefer games like mgs3, tekken 5, san andreas or dmc3. nontheless, final fantasy 7 is still my fav game of all time, it delivered story and emotions like no second game, and i m really looking forward to advent children although in the beginning i was dead sure it d suck.

Thats neat It also contains japanese subs so it wont be long before someone subs it |
I am not even going to bother watching this movie before they put in some English voices, Japanese pisses me off horribly, It's probably one of the gayest languages on the plant, like huge insects talking shit. |
A your comments about games being too hard are gay, made me wonder what kind of person you were, here's a hint how about....you....actually....bother.. too.... TRAIN the characters as an rpg is meant to be played... "unbeatable" ??? Just because you suck at games doesn't mean they are "gay" "stupid".... I love FF7, I hate FFX+above, FF Tatics is another masterpiece, fallout 1-2 all are turn based... Maybe you like fable? 4 hours too complete... maybe just maybe if you don't touch the controller for say 5 hours you might actually die in the agem
B Your comment about the Japanese language is horrible, "gayest languages on the plant"
How old are you |
My comments about some games being too hard are realistic. Why are you the only one flaming me while there are other people in this thread agreeing with the way I think? Why not flame them as well or are you afraid you'll get gangbanged by everyone? Where did I say that FF was gay anyways? I like to follow a story in an RPG, if I want to train a character out of the "story loop" I'll play an MMORPG where I grind 80% of the game, and I do play MMORPGs. I couldn't care less about what you love and what not, really I don't so don't bother telling me what you like and what not not, I LOVE FF7 I HATE FFX, who gives a fuck? I sure don't. But since you did though I'll return you the favor and tell you that I loved FF-VIII, I Didn't like FF-X either and I enjoyed Fable alot, even though it was a quick experience I enjoyed every second of it.
If you think that Japanese Isn't a gay language then that is your gay opinion, once again I couldn't give a shit. How old I am, I am 18 years old.
You wont reply to my post you said? Don't because your a complete fucking retard who thinks that the world gives a fuck about his opinions. As for Japanese having a big game industry... yeah....... and...... fucking idiot....
Next time you decide to flame me please come with something better because that was really pathetic...

I'm gonna side with GP with this. Pizada you're being a little too immature. I mean "if you think Japanese isn't a gay language then that is your gay opinion." I think that's a pretty immature statement. And some come back. All you did was curse him out.
Also what do you think came first? RPGs or MMORPGs? Where you think MMORPGs got the bulid your character up stuff. Building your character up has been there since the beginning of RPGs.
