Run it again since its broken score Razz 3-way should work now better (new patch on 3Dmark).

So my x-fire score should be better now then? Because i did get proper scaling back then already IIRC Neutral

Edit: ran tests again and getting even worse results then my best test, so unless it wasn't working for the 7000 series specifically, it's been fine since day 1 for me Neutral (or still broken..)

It has worked for everything else expect 7xxx series since day one (nvidia cards had problems only when there is 3 or 4), new patch messes things tho on some setups. You also might wanna overclock that CPU little more, its gonna bottleneck even HD 6870 crossfire (your old score had 4.2Ghz and when you did new it was 4.1Ghz). Something like 4.5Ghz will not bottleneck any CF/SLI (2cards) setup.

Last test is getting bottlenecked by VRAM, getting stutters quite often..

CPU usage never peaks to even 50% during the non physics tests, so doubt it's bottlenecking.

Plus i can't go that high, will go over 65 degrees then Wink

And FYI, my higher score had 4.1Ghz, my lower 4.2 reconfirming that my CPU ain't my bottleneck yet Wink

Still, i rather keep my temps under that. Plus 4.1 on this cpu isn't a bottleneck by miles for a few more years, unless something really new is coming out Wink

Trust me it is for crossfire (not much, but still you get more fps out of them if CPU is properly overclocked).

I've upgraded recently, so at least technically I don't have to occupy the last place anymore. Razz

I mean, it's nothing by Scandinavian standards (Wink) but serves me well in 1600x900.

The results: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/688258

It seems Futuremak doesn't like my graphics driver (320.18 WHQL).

GTX 460 still isn't that bad for gaming. I didn't have much problems with it a month ago, just before I sold it. At lower resolutions with detail level diminished slightly, everything is very much playable.

Anyway, I finally bought a decent cooler for my CPU, OC'ed it to 4.2 GHz, and decided to post the results.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/743325

Comparing to my previous results, it's pretty obvious that the lighter the test is for GPU, the more important role CPU plays to speed things up.

Tried newest drivers, pretty nice score for single card on Firestrike (also my gaming clocks, actual boost clock is 1181) Very Happy 10K should be possible with custom Bios and my usual 5Ghz CPU OC, too hot in here to start hc overclocking tho, need to settle for summer clocks Very Happy.

Time to embarrass myself, I guess Laughing i5-2500k @ 4Ghz (summer settings basically) and a totally stock GTX570. The driver is "unapproved" since it's out of date, I'm still running the last 320.14 WHQL since I'm not touching the latest ones, not with the card-brick/damage reports going around.

That would be mine then Sad 4.4Ghz on my chip requires 1.35v to stabilise. Sabin Luck® in full effect eh? Laughing

Dafuck?! Didn't know GTX 570 is that much weaker than 660. Shocked

Must have something to do with the VRAM amount...

Yup, when it comes to Firestrike; the 660ti decimates the 570, almost 2k more Sad Not to mention the 400Mhz core boost, going from 732Mhz on my 570 to tolanri's 1.15Ghz Laughing Even your nonTi is a lot faster too. Though to be completely honest, with the dropping prices of hardware I'm giving strong consideration to selling my 570s and getting a 7970 or a GTX770. Komplett are selling 7970s for 2500kr now - sell my two 570s and put my "get a new case" fund towards it.

Seems like it would be the better option in the long run Sad

And I've far from reached the limit with this CPU. Bumping it to 4.4 (stock is 3.5, but it turbos to 4.0 when under load) bumped the physics score from just under 7k (6945-ish) to 8.5k. Meanwhile it topped out at 49 degrees with the Seidon 120M I've put on it (not my own system and it was on a budget, hence the choice to go with AMD and the el-cheapo Seidon). That's not bad, not bad at all. It doesn't make AMD the best choice, but it certainly makes them a very interesting one, as this particular CPU costs just 130 Euros. This motherboard and CPU together are about 100 EUR cheaper than an i5 setup is.

So in physics test AMD FX-8320 is slightly faster than i5 2500K @4,2GHz?

Wow, that's some interesting value for money. If next-gen games really start being heavily multi-threaded, AMD CPUs may be back in business for gaming.

Yes but with games like Starcraft 2 etc... Its getting annihilated by intel, awesome value for money now anyway. Im thinking to build Mini-ATX 8-core AMD setup with 290/290X as second gaming PC and hook it up to HDTV (with ze mantle) Very Happy
