Anaconda and/or Sniper, those help a great deal, as well as Auspex so you can see the auras of the zombies and know which gate they're heading towards.

Ohh man, seems like i'm royally fucked. Reached Ming Xiao boss and i can barely scratch her and i take a shitload of damage. Using Katana and have defense at 7 and bashing at 6 and using the heavy armor. Holy shit this is what i call a late character check. Was doing fine by stealth killing and also normal killing uptil this point. Well, had problems with the Sabbat boss but i killed him.

Yeah, I finished my first playthrough of the game with that latest patch about a week ago.

Game still has some annoying bugs (mostly related to graphics) but it was a great experience Wink

Very Happy I will certainly reinstall it in a year or two for a Malkavian playthrough. Maybe by then we'll have Unofficial Patch 10.5 or something

I need to stop playing as Malk, seriously, every time I reinstall and play it through again... Malk. They're just too damned awesome! Every other class in the game sounds the same, sure they've got different play styles for COMBAT, but conversations? Egh - cookie cutter. The Malk, on the other hand, is just batshit insane and conversations are fun as all hell.

Lol, same here. Every time I do another playthrough, I always intend on trying a melee Brujah or finally finishing a Nosferatu run, but inevitably end up rolling a Malk. Can't resist those crazy bastards.

Melee Brujah was my first playthrough recently, rarely shot any firearms, maybe in the second fight against the tzimisce. It was very enjoyable. I received advice to play a "standard" class before trying a Malkavian Very Happy

Yeah, you definitely want to save a Malk until a second or third playthrough, both so you know what the hell is going on and so you can really appreciate it in all its splendour.

Nosferatu are pretty cool too, also very different than the rest. As for others... well, there are some minor changes here and there (and obviously, certain clans favour certain approaches - Ventrue have it easier when talking to people and can bend them to their will, Brujah are combat monsters etc.), but yeah, it's not as gamechanging as Malk or Nosfer.

And... damn you. Oh well... again... *starts looking for his Bloodlines disks*

Ps. Just give in, Sabin Razz You know you want to Razz

One of my favourite missions in the game, that isn't Ocean House, is the Nosferatu ex-beauty queen one Very Happy In fact, I'd go as far as to say the Nos portion of the game was one of the most enjoyable.

Yeah, it was a really nice one. Esspecially since you're basicly seeing her posters everywhere since the very beginning Very Happy Nice touch.

The only part of the game I didn't like was the sewers. There was just waaaaay too much fighting. But then, chapter 4 happened, and all was well again. Ah, and btw - "Hengeyokai" quest in China Town was pretty funny too. And all these investigations, where you actually had to break into homes and look for stuff (you could also be just exploring). And the one in the hospital... and the serial killer one... and... damn, there was a lot of those good ones Very Happy

Yea, I woud be too. As well as many others, I'm sure. Both Masquerade games were (well, are, really) spectacular in their own right (Redemption was probably the best game Nihilistic Software ever made, to be honest). And if the old Troika band got together for it... damn. A man can dream Smile

Then again... who knows... we live in strangely spectacular gaming times as of late Very Happy Maybe an isometric Unity-based Vampire game with turn combat? Razz Yeah... a man can dream.

~edit~

Patch 8.6: This file has been downloaded 28218 times since 2013-04-24. 28k in two weeks, not bad for a 9 year old game long abandoned Very Happy

There would not be a market for a proper sequel would there? I've got this installed already on Steam and it looks like I'm heading back to Downtown...

There's certainly a market for a proper sequel, either direct or spiritual. Unfortunately any publisher involved is going to have dollar signs in their eyes and want something like 4-6 million in sales, which of course means a streamlined out the ass action game.

Fantastic game, already have it on Steam (picked it up last time it was 5 euros), but I also wanted to get the "offline" copy like in ye old piracy days. So I managed to find supposedly intact Hoodlum release back from 2004, but since no source is 100% reliable these days, can someone confirm these checksums:

CD1\hlm-vmb1.bin 0DDA2433
CD1\hlm-vmb1.cue DAC07FD4
CD2\hlm-vmb2.bin CCAFFC9F
CD2\hlm-vmb2.cue 38500B47
CD3\hlm-vmb3.bin A883A6D2
CD3\hlm-vmb3.cue 459D4678
hoodlum.nfo 042ECED1

Thanks

Had to check this out, last time was like...2004/5? Idk. it was new anyway.

Got myself a rls and the latest unoffical patch on the way down. Is there a lot of work to get this running stable in Win7-64Bit?

Nope, just install the unofficial patch and use crack 1.2 from GCW (but only the EXE, not the DLL).
