Well I can tell you something; this game is as rough as old boots but something about it is damned fun. It has *potential*, you can feel it, but the execution is sloppy - especially with the dialogue, which is just terrible no matter how you look at it. Combat system is nice and the overall premise of the game is okay - just, like FM said, keep your expectations low and you'll actually have a good time. I certainly am.

So I saw that combat is compared to The Witcher 2, no problems with that for me but what about the rest of the game?
Does it bring to mind any similar game?

pretty much this. its worth a play through if you enjoy rpg's. it definitely has that eurojank feel to it, but its a good game.
story has a bunch of branching options too, lots of little choices effect things too. every single human you fight can be killed or not, by default when you beat someone in combat they're knocked out. you can harvest their bodies using a serum extractor and it'll kill them, which will effect your overall "reputation," which works as you would expect it to.
definitely worth the try, and if you have the TIME, do try! =p

Funnily enough, it feels like Alpha Protocol too. It's just a shame it's so linear as it has a lot of potential -- though I'm definitely enjoying it so far. I've just reached Shadowlair and it does get better.

Wasn't this game primarily developed by Cyanide with Spiders only giving a hand here and there?

Nope, as far as I know this is entirely Spiders' game. That was the case with Of Orcs and Men, where Cyanide was responsible for concept and production only. While that game turned out as it did, there is something about Spiders that I really like. They have a nice engine and they sure know how to polish a game.
As for this game, I really like it. It's like a hybrid of The Witcher 2 and Red Faction. I find the combat system fine, but it could have been more fluid I think. What I really love is the theme (which is where the Red Faction is in this) and how the crafting system works.
I don't know what's with Cyanide and Spiders... both seem to have a good game (well, Cyanide's is amazing actually) and then there's Of Orcs and Men which was the game of both studios. I feel like they should have kept the ideas for that for later and focus entirely on one game, Cyanide should have polished GoT even more and Spiders should have made this a big game instead of a XBLA type of game. Only after that they should have made Of Orcs and Men I think. Oh well...

I just finished it, length was decent. I really liked it although the writing was horrible. I feel that they made the best they could with the budget available. This game could have been great with some AAA money behind it. You can see they did compromise a lot but at least they shipped a pretty polished game for 20 bucks.
Ive played alot worse AAA titles.
oh, and the fighting system is really well done, with some more dev time it couldve been fleshed out to perfection.

I've played the game for 4 hours yesterday night and I wholeheartedly agree with you guys, it's definitely rough and a bit clunky..but it's very entertaining.
It's clearly a low-budget game, and it shows (voice acting and writing are generally average, graphics and animations are also quite oldgen-like), but in its core is a classic RPG with tons of quests/side-quests, combat that is scarily similar to the Witcher 2's, interesting choices/consequences structure and a nice crafting system.
Shame that everything feels a tad "limited" due to the budget constraints, but it's a hidden gem and deserves to be played (it's still much better than many AAAwesome pseudo-RPGs released these days )

Followed Sabin's advice and went into the not very expecting, but once I got over the horrible dialogue and voice acting, it is very much enjoyable.
R7 2700x @4GHz / MSI B450 Tomahawk / beQuiet! Dark Rock 4 / 32GB @3000 MHz / MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z / Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Western Digital 1TB / Fractal Design Meshify C Dark / SuperFlower Leadex Gold 650W / DELL whatever 27 inch IPS

Wasn't my advice bud, t'was FireMaster's, I just agreed with it. The game ends up being thoroughly enjoyable despite the rough spots and you can see that a larger budget would only have helped this game achieve greatness. I hope it sells well, I hope Spiders* work on a sequel and I hope they improve the aspects of the this one.
*sorry, confused, fixed.

Finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it, despite a slightly rocky start and some game-wide hilariously poor voice acting. The combat was fun, if a little tedious towards the end due to the lack of any tangible reward, and the loot/crafting system starts off rather ingenious but loses its lustre fairly quickly one you realise there's only a handful of weapons and armours in the game.
There's a lot of potential here, let's just hope Spiders builds on that for any possible sequel.

10-15 hours?
Too short for this kind of game for my tastes. Oh well.
