What's the point of the game saving my progress each morning since as soon as I die, all of my progress resets out and I start anew from the very first day?

Same thing when I exit the game and load up my save. I end up starting from day 1 with no resources and with the default recipes enabled.

I'm really liking the game, I've reached day 3 and I still cant find any gold to get build new stuff.. Where can I get gold form??

You can trade the pig king for it (he'll take most meats except monster) or just mine the rocks for it. The ones with the golden veins have a higher chance of dropping the nuggets.

Gold Nuggets can be found in the rocks that have golden lines, sometimes theres an area with a rock floor, in those you will surely find rocks with gold lines, mine those and u get gold.

When you mine the rocks, they should drop. Not every time, but at least 50 percent of the time, you should get one gold drop from the rocks.
Maybe they changed it along the way, but I don't think so. I haven't played for some time. Usually also some appears randomly on the ground. And pig king can trade you for some. Best with unique items (e.g. from graves).

Day 20, I have somehow managed to survive this long.
I am tired, my beard is long, supplies are low, and enemies keep on coming.
I have already perished once but was lucky enough to be resurrected at some weird pig head pike place...thank god for that.

Nice tw1st . I played couple of games since the official release and got to day 12. Got lucky and found two of those pig altars on one map which helped a lot. I wonder if you can make some sort of sacrifice there to reset it after you use it. No spoilers please. Also, from what I know is that beard is more then just a cosmetic thing. It's good to shave it, and sometimes even better to keep it on.
I do have a question though. Can you at any point grow flowers? Don't need to know how just yet, just is it possible.

I'm having hard time in this game. I'm almost dying from lack of food, My sanity is ~70..
Is there a reliable food source?

Only thing u can do is take a day to gather Berries, Carrots, Seeds, make animal traps for Birds, Bunnies, make a base around a place with lots of bunnies and flowers.
You will have:
-Bunnies to trap, kill and cook
-Birds to catch, kill and cook
-Flowers atract butterflies, when they settle on the flower go and atack them, wings are tasty.
-Cook the berries.
Thats how i survive, i take 1 day to gather a lot of food and then i go back to rock hunting etc.
Also mandrakes give a LOT of hunger relief and always have a Straw Roll bed to cure ur insanity.

I had a chester for all of 2 minutes, then he disappeared.

I've tried this game out of curiosity and I have to say, it's pretty damn great!
Everything is quite easy at first, but after several virtual days things get hectic with the aggressive fauna that wants to rip your face off (damned hounds).
It's suggested to not look on the wiki otherwise it would spoil all the fun in my opinion  . Curiosity will often bring you to death though, like when I derped and tried to smash a killer bee hive

Psfff, found out i could recruit pigs, was all high and mighty and wanted to challenge a swamp monster, well fuck, some killer instinct shit right there, ULTRAAA COMBOOO and i died . Went back to pick stuff up and run away, ULLLTRAA COMBOOO game over, 20 fucking days to the dump.

Haha yeah, it's so frustrating at times, but if you don't play Rambo-style and learn from your mistakes you can hit the 30 days mark without big problems (assuming that you're lucky enough to not encounter any angry wild beast ). There's still so much to learn though, I've barely scratched the surface of this game.
There are people on YT who managed to survive for 400+ days, that's pretty darn impressive
