Anyway, this might work:

Ensure that 'Turn on Filter Keys' is ticked at the top and apply. Dead Island now runs smoothly, when you're done, untick the box and apply.

Same here, in the cutscenes at the beginning of the game.
Can't tell if that's the crack or the game, happens at different places each time.

highly doubt it's crack/game issue. bsod is almost always hardware related

Anyone getting a MSE warning on one of the steam_api files from the crack?
Happened every time with 3 different cracks from 3 different sources.

Actually I misread...I thought he was talking about random crashing. That was the case for me and was cured by changing online option to single player.

Well, just did some testing and i don't have any crashes or stuttering people are talking about.
For once it's running solid 60 without any issues

Well, I can definitely see a difference between KB+M vs derptroller.
It's easy to see in the very first room with the smoke and the lights while walking toward/away from them, using a fixed perspective in both cases the derptroller is smoother than KB/M.
Well, I'll try all the tricks they suggested to improve this from the first game I guess.
EDIT: turning off the in-game v-sync seems to help/solve it

never really played the first one, see if this one will keep me playing.
I remember this game got different combat style analog and digital, am I missing out when not using 360 controller?
Unable to boot the game on XP;
The application failed to initialize properly 0xc0000142,
Error only shows when using cracked files (steam_api.dll)
FIXED by using Steam_api from Dead Island (reloaded) 
Q6600/Club3D 4890/2GB DDR2/WiN7\XP/1.5 TB/23 Inch LCD
