So... let me see:
Anno 1404 -> Awesome Porting Browser Games Maker 4000™ Pay2Win Edition -> Anno Online?
Which means, that for example, when you need another island, or when people need beer and you need the seeds for it, you'll either have to enter their social game of annoying (inviting) people, or you give in and spend (real) money on it. Or both, which is normal is these kind of social games.

I'm actually interested in the game. Sure, it's social, but the trend is clear, social games are getting more and more complex. I for one, being a hardcore gamer, don't find anything insulting about this trend. Few years from now, we'll have great looking browser games, and if it gets more and more complex, we might actually have quite a few deep games.
I'd try this one out.

facebook has a huge list of keys IDK how many are still valid, but I just random chose one and it worked

well so far barely past the hand holding phase, and its a time grind on just waiting for wood. But guess what? You can buy whatever you need with real money. What kind of social aspect I havent seen yet aside from a chat window. Like I said its very early in my experience, but this so far looks to be a straight forward facebook browser game, with all the traps and tricks. Nothing new, but a re skinned version of the same old formula. But still soon, but the everything on ass slow timers, with the real cash solution. The second it requires me to nag my friends im done.

I used to play on the Hungarian open beta (why it was so ahead here, I have no idea). It's basically a facebook game without facebook. Fun for a while, gets boring after about a week, after that I couldn't be assed to check my island.
