Well I tried the game a bit and noticed nothing major so far, needs more extensive testing but given a few patches most of the major issues can surely be cleared up.

Can't get RadeonPro to properly hook this game so I checked the config file and other stuff, seems this game uses OpenGL 4.2 which is pretty neat. Smile
(Rage used 4.1 I think and then I don't believe there has been any other games using 4.0, at least not on Windows.)

I haven't noticed any issues. It is a lot more optimized than the beta was and still fun.

I don't think you have any real objectives other than conquering the other lords once you've finished the tutorial segment.
(Maybe it changes later.)

People are overreacting. Been playing for several hours and not had a crash, game stopping bug, or any bugs outside a couple of words that were misspelled. Others on the Steam forums are saying the same thing.

Yep, same here - been playing a couple of hours and so far so good. I don't doubt there are bugs to be fixed, but perhaps some of those disappointed beta testers exaggerate a little.

Reading different forums, it seems like there is in fact a large amount of bugs present (some of them game stoppers), even though I have not experienced anything yet after 3 hours of playing.

Apparently the latest beta test started just a couple of days ago and the game was released even though the testers warned the game is raw. I guess the publisher was pushing them to release before HOMM6 stand alone expansion arrives (beginning of may I think). Anyway, the game needs more time to be patched up so it might be a good idea to hold off playing until the more serious bugs are taken care off (for example one of the bugs is that after the tutorial is over your journal is already full with all the quests and spoilers from the game).

I think I'm stuck in the first tutorial lol. After I bought some army and closed the garisson screen, the tutorial won't continue. And all functions are disabled for the sake of the tutorial

Yeah I got that. I had to restart the tutorial to get it to work.

Yeah, that fixed it. Game gets boring quickly. Just completed the tutorial and I'm already bored with it.
The difficulty option before starting a new shard kinda takes the fun out of the campaign too, I'd prefered some gradually increasing difficulty or something, not just an option.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

I bought it... Got very excited about new game to play (I'm drunk, alright? Razz ), then figured I'd register the multi-player serial to get that out the way.

10 minutes and about 12 faulting module error exceptions later, I've lost my enthusiasm.

Maybe buying games when you're drunk is a bad idea?

Hating, absolutely hating the interface. And the construction screen is god awful for me. Maybe its just an issue before I get used to it, but so far I'm liking the first game a lot more. Yes even with the 20 year old basic graphic.

I was loving the game until island 3, where I got the access violation bug and can't continue (the "fixes" on the forums don't help).

This helped me and tons of others from what I've read on various forums:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-data-execution-prevention-settings

Point the setting to the main executable and not the launcher.

Anyone know how to play this in windowed mode?

As far as I know this isn't possible at the moment, there was a thread on the Gog.com forums where they mentioned wanting to add support for it in a later patch due to user demand.

As for the game itself haven't run into any bugs yet and while some of the UI changes are neat Genesis's interface felt far smoother to use. Still a fun little game until the next TBS release...

Edit: Souslovs comment on Gog
