Dunno... will it handle all the physx papers flying around at 60fps, at all times?

I just announced the official Metro: Last Light specs on our site to tie in with our GPU-game bundle. What's that gotta do with this thread? Well Deep Silver let me grab some images from a WIP build and they just happen to be 3840x2160 with max game settings, downsampled to x1080 (I cropped the first shot ever so slightly to get rid of something at the very top).

The arrangement allows us to publish them on our site and our social media channels, so I can't repost here. Instead, head here: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/art...t-light-bundle

These were some of the first shots I took and I've since worked out how to remove the gun model and do some other stuff which will come in handy for screenshotting. Rest assured, I'll share the info here when the time comes.

As for performance at that res, I can't talk about it just yet, but I think you can likely work it out going by the Optimum system specs and the fact that I have two Titans Smile

Quote:
Last Light optimization is miles better than 2033. I saw the alpha at GamesCom in 2011, and they had it running at that time on a 590.

The TITAN Optimum spec is every single thing on max at something like 2560x1440/1600. Oh and the specs come from Deep Silver, not us, per the suggestion above Smile

As much as I can tell from the video, they don't look that different as the ones in 2033.

2033 has amazing textures on some objects and pitiful ones on others. Hopefully this one is more consistent across the board.

maybe it's better optimized than metro2033 but it still needs at least 3 titans to max out with all details what a shame

Hmm, looks decent Smile Hopefully I won't get lost in a game provided I didn't play 2033 and have no intention of doing so at the moment, not with the abundance of titles that are already in my backlog.

This time the Metro franchise author worked on the script (which is NOT an adaptation of his novels) (though likely not as the head writer) and actually and more importantly wrote all the dialogues, so perhaps the script will be fairly good. Smile

2011 build: http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2012/05/Metro-Last-Light-3.jpg
2013 build: http://international.download.nvidia.com/geforce-com/international/images/metro-last-light-3.png

For example dat bulding has much higher resolution textures now.

Those requirements are reasonable on paper, I certainly don't need to play at ultra-high-to-the-max details with volumetric everything + uberAA&HBAO to have fun.

I guess it will be the same as Crysis 3 (that haven't finished yet, but that's another story Laughing), with the medium/high details being the best combo between optimal framerate and graphical quality.

Besides, Metro 2033 was very playable even on my dualcore/4870 combo as long as I didn't exaggerate with the graphical goodies, so I'm not really concerned. Razz

The story isn't too complicated (though it's still pretty mysterious) and it can be summarized in like 3 lines. But I'd recommend to play Metro 2033 anyways, it's certainly one of the best shooters in the last decade.

Nice necro-quote Laughing The first chapter had indeed some Deus Ex HR moments, that's all. I do, however, find consolitis's statement pretty exaggerating though (obviously a joke) Very Happy

Just stash aside 2-3 hours, go through it, shift-obliterate it and then erase any memories you had of it. It's your typical below-average interactive tech-demo not deserving any more attention past its first week post launch.

Im gonna cry little inside if it doesnt run smooth with 2x 7950s @ 2560x1440 (next card should be in my PC next week, coming from germany :>). Also i like how they put to optimal GTX Titan and GTX 690, the latter one is much faster than GTX Titan when SLI works like it should.
