Looks amazing to me. A very clear improvement to the lighting system, the scale of the areas. That ghost chariot looks really cool. The textures are a bit low, but the art style and character design is as amazing as it was in DS & DS.

Of course it's an improvement, but unfortunately that's not saying much at all considering

At least it actually is an improvement, unlike what happened to Dragon Age 2. I don't know what your expectation was.
Yeah it looked pretty good. I noticed characters now fall to their deaths and flail around realistically instead of being stiff as a board on the way down.
The graphics sure are close to the CGI trailer quality.
I don't know about the game. It looks the same to me (no idea if that is good or bad), not impressed by anything I've seen in that video. Right now I couldn't care less about the game itself since I haven't even managed to play the first one, but I'm interested in how the PC version is. I hope they adopt all the improvements the community have brought to the first one and on top of that I hope they give separete options for the HUD parts. I see they're still using those idiotic DPAD icons, so let it be that at least that can be turned off.
damn in those darker areas when light hits more objects it looks very nice and atmospheric, also that bridge with dragons looked amazging, too bad video has shitty quality.
after that brief interview with developer i`m little bit more calm about game quality
Well, the lighting is indeed improved, especially outdoors. Everything else so far looks like more of the same which isn't bad, but I do indeed expect considerable improvements for the PC version.
I really like what they did with the post processing stuff. Love the DoF. Glad they got rid of that terrible motion blur and added a more modern one. A bit too poly and res on the level mesh and textures though.
Dual wield improvements, nice. Torch bearing, I love doing that in Skyrim, nice to be in DS. I like the UI, more Demon Souls than Dark Souls. Being able to see what's next in the spell and item slot is cool. Whatever that replaced Humanity seem more like a placeholder so I'm indifferent. Didn't like Humanity anyway.
About Estus Flask still being in the game intrigue me about what exactly are those Drop Stone of Healing. Grass from Demon Souls maybe?.
Overall I'm very impressed. They didn't change things that didn't need to and improved upon mechanics from DS1 in a sensible way. Personally that's what I like to see in sequels.
The frame rates looked rather wobbly, but considering the amount of work they have put into the visual quality, it's a fair offset. However, I just pray that they don't cap the PC version's frame rates and optimize it really well to scale with medium and high end configurations.

Impressive. But it did seem the player took little damage to my liking. And also what are the healing mechanics? Didn't see estus flask, instead there is some Drop stone of healing. Hopefully it follows same mechanics as in DS1 and won't be just some consumable that you'd buy at vendor.
And finally there doesn't seem to be humanity system, if UI can be of any indication. There is an icon of moon and sun instead...I wonder what that means.

the player was massively overleveled for the demo it seems

Day/night cycle most likely. Perhaps some monsters gain streangth during night, your character gains abilities, world is dark and vice versa.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
It's good to see that even though the player looked like a high level character (stamina and health bars are long), he can still easily die (those two armored dudes). Though that fat cyclopes was doing not as much damage as I thought he would.
Framerate looked choppy, and graphics look just a tiny bit better, I am still very excited.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.
