They did say they wanted to do that, but they couldn't do everything they wanted so in that area they focused on making the world reactive to the player, NPCs included.

Yes, I've read this now :

Quote:

I'd just like to add that coming up with these stretchgoals was pretty damn hard. Reality (time and budget) was the biggest killer... We would have loved to have switched some of these around, or made smaller gaps, but we have to be realistic... If we want to do things right, they're gonna cost time.
For instance, if we are allowed to do schedules, we NEED day and night. If you have day and night, it has to mean something extra too (affects things, impact on stuff). If you have schedules, people should react accordingly, and actually MEAN what they do: if they go to bed, they pick up their stuff outside, and lock their doors, and if you do break in, they should react accordingly. So we're thinking ahead, and that makes us realize that some things are not just as simple as we would like them to be Wink
Thanks for the support though, reading that you like these goals is really a huge pat on the back, and a relief Wink

So now it makes sense...they are talking about making the whole day/night cycle with deeper gameplay consequences than I've imagined at first. I would really like them to reach the 1 Mil mark now Smile

Hope people update their pledges, otherwise reaching the 1mil goal will be hard. Those NPC schedules are too sweet to pass up.

Hope so too. It would be sad indeed to not have all of those. Sad

Laughing I think the main concern is about the typology of co-op involved, there's the old-style party and there's couch co-op duo to play with your noob friend.

But it's Larian so they will do the right thing. The derp will stay away from this Razz

Seems like we were right about the companions. If we don't reach 800k (which will never happen) the companions will just be generic sidekicks.

Yes just noticed it, it's a shame Sad . I hope at least that they don't interfere too much and are actually helpful in some way. I wouldn't like the idea of having an useless overly attacked dude following me like a shadow 24/7 and constantly laughing at my failures xD

Oh you don't have to use the co-op functionality Ixigia... Whistle me elmo
(Which I guess is also part of why the AI followers are somewhat more basic, maybe.)

The henchmen work just as well now as they would if they'd do that. It's just that now they don't have a story of their own and all that. They're henchman. If they had more money they would make them companions. Both work just as well, gameplay-wise though. The only thing companions would have different there would be the skills related to their personalities and all that I guess. Also, you don't have to use the henchmen, which I'm fucking glad of. I want to play with the least amount of characters possible (a shame that I can't do it with just one). I'm only sad about the last stretch goal with the day-night cycle and everything that that affects in the world, since that would have made it more like Gothic.

Also, forgot to post last night:

Update #21 - 4 Days To Go, The Ultimate Preview, Live stream, Reddit AMA, Stretch Goals Video, Imps vs Commander!

Update #22 - Starting the end-game

They don't have much more to go until 650k, so I expect them to reach that, which should add even more to the character development.
