I sometimes check other forums and people rage there too. I'd like to think they are just forgetting what day it is. Very Happy

Wish they would have included a HB for this. 5 ponies defending ponyland against a full attack from every other nation. That would have been the cherry on the cake. Very Happy

Pony combat is hilarious with the rainbow cannons, they really put some effort to it. The level up image is awesome too.
My gf was suddenly also very interested in this game

Damn this game is fun.
I used to play IL2 1946 with a G940 and hadn't touched flight sims in quite a while but decided to give this one a go after seeing some epic stuff in the screenshot thread. I wasn't disappointed.

I only just joined after the (seemingly) hated 1.29 update but as I didn't play the game before that and I'm still at the beginning where stuff is kinda cheap and it looks fine to me so far Smile

Already had some really cool moments, like losing my ailerons and 2 engines catching fire on my japanese floatplane bomber. I could only steer using the rudder and managed to limp back to base and land the sucker. It was awesome Smile

-edit-
Just wanted to mention I really like how easy it was to set up my joystick with it and it even works with trackIR without issues pretty much out of the box.
Took me only a few minutes to have the full g940 setup with trackir working with force feedback and everything. So refreshing.. I'm used to spending hours on that shit Razz

Only played historical battles so far btw.

Shame, after playing WAAAY back in alpha, I was really hoping they fixed stuff, got the game relatively in shape. Nope, same jerky feeling controls, fugly maps, facepalm worthy plane selection, etc.

Sure, some of the problems will undoubtedly be fixed by release (mostly plane selection), but I just can't see them improving controls massively if such an integral part is still not good after all this time and testing.

Back in the alpha, it was borderline Freelancer-ish, but your craft still shot straight forward. Many games made this mistake. If you make your craft follow your cursor as a virtual joystick, then it's just not comfortable if you still shoot stright, as that divides your attention between the "control cursor" and the crosshairs.

Now they seem to be doing what WT does, and uses the cursor as a "go there" instead of "turn this way until I say otherwise" which is much more comfortable. But according to him, it's still uncomfortable and jerky.

Got to agree with Jingles here, it's a terrible shame that War Thunder will most likely go unchallenged here. They are less likely to move towards a fair economic model if they don't have competition.

And as far as we can tell, this is no competition.

Well, it was good while it lasted. With rumors about the devs being happy with the current economic model, and now this hack video, I guess I can safely say farewell to this, at least for the time being. Had an amazing time, but I guess this is one reason to be glad I'm broke, no money wasted. Smile

Lol last thing i read about that is that the hacker didnt even release this hack (2 weeks ago).
I thought i also saw a translation about this exploit being fixed already.

Btw.. this hack is not really gamebraking anyway... at least not for arcade.

Havent had any hacker problems at all tbh. Still enjoying this alot, but sadly dont have alot of time to play lately =(

I gotta say I dont mind the eco model much, i usually play rank 5/6 and get 10k on a bad game 30/40k on a good game, I can fly higher tier planes but i just like that tier alot.

what I mean to say is this is the first of these kind of games where i dont feel the need to grind to get higher, since im enjoying pretty much every tier so far.

I read that the speed and maneuvers are purely clientside illusions in that video, but the godmode ramming and aimbotting seem to be quite effective cheats.

Good if he really didn't make it public, but seeing hacks already being made is kinda disheartening

Sorry but what aimbotting?

Okay it shows now a circle where you need to hit them but its the same as in arcade And there is no profit trying to shoot them from 800+ metres.

And what godmode? Its the broken russian planes that can do this but it has nothing to do with godmode. They still die.

The mouse movement is very suspect IMO during the kill montage. Maybe just me, but to me it seems the cursor tries to position itself just ahead of the end of the red line, jumping all over the place, reacting to split second movements, instead of anything that I've seen anyone do with the mouse. Again, maybe just me.

As for ramming, it would make sense, if only he didn't just ram down two planes with two US planes without a scratch. Yes, USSR planes are ridiculous in this sense, but, not the US ones. And I highly doubt even a USSR craft would survive a head on collision with a tower (although that can be because of the server-client miscommunication thanks to speed).

Yeah, referal link. If anyone is interested in trying this one out, might as well consider helping each other out. When registering with this, you'll get an extra 50 golden eagles. NOT ME. YOU. I'll only receive anything if you progress in the game. If you only play a few matches, I won't get squat, but you still start out with 50 GE richer.

No no, use my referral link: http://warthunder.com/en/registration?r=3880299
I'll send you naked pics!

I find the game more pretty and the HUGE maps are very nice for maneuvering around a lot, instead of World of Tanks. Also the damage model is pretty much better.

One thing to mention, if you ever bother getting a premium plane, dont get a bomber Very Happy. They might be money maker "in theory" but you never get to make money since you´re target #1 and mostly 1-2 shot thanks to the new damage mechanics.

Been in open beta for a long while now. Smile

But since they are already cashing in on their cashgold system, it's pretty much released, just that they are still adding new stuff and balancing. They just decided to call it beta.

Well I'm kinda conflicted, because I have an epic WoT accounts, thus when WoWP will ship I'll have 150k free exp, gold and premium account at start..

At the same time War Thunder is kinda better, but if I start playing it regularly, I'll have to do a lot of catching up..

P.S: WoT is kinda in beta yet too.. v0.8.7 Razz

There is very little to catch up to in War Thunder. You reach level 7 in the nations and you're pretty much set to have a good time. Lots of planes and most players play in that tier (jets are really not what they cracked up to be).

Nice, will give it a shot then. War Thunder is okay, but I think playing with tanks is more fun.

War Thunder will have tanks, just a bit later on. Smile

(See pictures a bit higher up.)

And if they keep the tradition of their realistic damage models, it should be better than the one used in WoT.

Wait, I thought you meant that I could already play with the tanks, since it's in open beta, but it seems that's not the case then Razz
