Damn fun game even if it does start out slow and only take about 20 hours of game time to finish. Assuming you do most of the side-quests. The new areas are beautiful even if short-lived.

BTW I ran it on a slot-1 1ghz with a radeon 8500 and windowsblinds np's Wink

If upgrading your drivers doesn't help it's sometimes a good idea to roll them back a few revs.

No I went to the archery, the old guy is standing next to me and asks me if I'm ready

But I just can't say Yes Sad Sad I can press Tab as many times as I want, he doesn't react on it, anyone know why?

btw, there is this red light around him, shouldn't it be green?

if he's highlighted red, it means ur focused on him in a combat mode, hit the space bar again to deselect him and he'll go green again.....

I have a question still. isnt this game supposed to be geared toward the younger crowd? I only ask cuz early on there are quite a few drug (shroom) references and such. U'd think that would fuck the rating of the game over...

Well, I think this game is really great and a lot of fun period.
This is what Gothic was supposed to be like. Yes with more emphasis on
story, more weapons/armour and a little more maturing, this game could of
been a classic, but as it stands, it's still a great game.
To everyone having problems, you should try tweaking your comp, or defragging,
or maybe getting rid of all that junk you probably store on your P.O.S.
For ATI users, you can run everything pretty much on max, except for shadows, and it runs great.

P.S. - for people having problems playing this great game I can upload you
as many images as you like of ME playing it, so you can imagine how much fun it would be.

I just had a quick question...anyone having trouble with words disappearing from subtitles etc in the game?
This is happening way too often for me, when I'm talking to someone words disappear, now that is not too much trouble cuz you're listening anyways, but it also happens with things not spoken, like hovering your mouse over an item to see it's details etc, it would still disappear

anyone having this problem?
This is on an Nvidia 5600 btw

got the same problem, and it gets annoying. no idea how to sovle it tho, tried updating drivers and all that crap. but nothing.

i got nvidia 5900xt

Umm, the sword of aeons, isn't it supposed to have like 550 in damage? It did in the xbox version, but my sword of aeons in the pc version have only 230 and that do not even make it the most powerful weapon...the Solus Greatsword is with it's 3xx damage. Have I done something wrong or did they completley change the power of the aeons sword in the pc version?!?

btw i'd just like to say, I've got the ATI x850xt and it runs amazingly well on my card with full everything. No I haven't got shadows set to max coz the card doesn't support it but it sounds like there's not much differnce (according to the nvidia users on here anyway) so whats with all this 'nvidia - the way its meant to be played bullshit'? It is true. The difference between max and middle shadow quality option is minimal. At max, the shadows are slightly sharper. Howerever, being able to play with everything on max with 4xAA @ 1600x1200 with 45 min fps is something to behold for ATI users, and enjoy for me (a former ATI user). Smile Just wait for r520 though.

Are there any trainers or codes to reduce age or remove scars? I know there's a trainer out there, but it's for money, infinite health, exp points, etc. All I want is just to stay younger and get rid of scars. I got hit and now have three large gashes on my face and I had a helmet on.

yeah the whole scar situation is difficult to avoid, even if you're wearing heavy armor. You're going to get one or two eventually, usually through fighting balverines or the harder bandits.

The only way I've found to avoid scars is by spending points in the protection spell Physical Shield. Every time you get hit with that on it will take off some of your Will, instead of health. Just make sure to buy lots of will potions.

As for aging, I have no idea...my character is already 32 and I've only played a couple hours.

Quite a nice outfit gimme gimme Smile

Do you get from the summoner-quests?

I beat the game as evil on the xbox and started out as evil on the pc as well. Killed whisper in the arena and then realized it was kinda silly to play it all like i did before. So started over as a goody-two-shoes and beat the game a few hours ago. Not leveling your strength attributes really makes the game more fun at the start and you get the sword in the stone pretty much instantly. Gotta love light weapons Smile

And i got this funky Tears of Avo-sword now too Very Happy

If you're a sword fighter you're going to get scars no matter what. I played as a magic user and only got one scar, that was from the white balverine.

As for staying young, well you can sacrifice children or whatever to those evil guys in the temple to stay young. But really thats a pretty evil thing to do, just to shave off a few years.

when you first try to get the sword from the stone it records your stats for physique, health and toughness. In order to get the sword your physique or toughness must have leveled up three times or your health by two, if i remember correctly from the xbox version.

To open that demon door you need to spell out his name on the big stones by hitting them in order.

You can pull it out on the first try if your Strength skills are all maxed; otherwise you need to raise physique by 5, toughness by 3, and health by 2. The easy way to do it is to not spend any str skill points til you get to this point and then port back and train each the required amount, then recall and the sword is yours. If you've already gotten Willow's Pickhammer (trivial to get within 5 minutes of completing your Guild training, just eat 10 chicks in front of the demon door) and the Cutlass Bluetane you won't really notice that your stats are low in the beginning.

Til now i have played WoW as my first RPG, in this case MMORPG.

So i have gain some interest in this kind of games, and between Fable and Dungeon Siege 2, what do you prefer? I know its seems a little offtopic...

BTW, Fable how runs on a PIV 2.8, 512 SDRam and a FX5200?

Yeah man, dont even bother...I mean, initially it seems fun...but the graphics are just....there good, but i dunno, they suck to me for some reason. The gameplay is kinda crap and I just dont like the overall feel of DS2.
Fable on the other hand, is quite interesting and since I have never played the xbox version, quite a new experience when it comes to rpg's...best one ive played since...I'd say Divine Divinity and Sacred - those are both excellent rpgs.
