Hum, so you cant turn off the QTE events in this game? |
Yes you can, i just even said under what option it's listed
I have only played a little bit, but i think you can only do that when you start a new playthrough (the first screen you get after selecting a char, with all the options for that playthrough)

The option is kinda called that, I forgot the exact name but it seems it automates the QTE events albeit from what I've read you still have to do the smaller ones, opening doors and such.
(You need to be in the full main menu as well, not in-game during the prologue, same as the FOV options.)

This is some of the weirdest shit I have ever played
And yeah, no major problems so far with QTE's asides from their presentation and the really REALLY stupid ones ("Press SPACE to jump down from this 1/2m ledge!" ).

Not a very good nor special game. But the coop is quite fun. We need more coop games for animals!

Paradoxically even the super-intrusive QTEs aren't that annoying if compared to the gameplay itself, which says a lot about the quality of this RE.
Hell, this game is so bad that even DS3 (that I'm playing at the moment) looks like a great classic. (not really, but at least I'm not disliking it too much )

Played 1-3...a dozen times each since 1997.
Finished 4th twice.
Finished 5th once...barely...
Played this for 15 minutes...
Goodbye RE!

Jake's 1st chapter was fun. Meleeing is fun, cool set pieces, cool mini boss battles.
On to the 2nd now.. let's see..
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Game is built around co-op so playing the campaign solo + AI leads to hilarity... still not sure if I want to continue playing it or not.
Will revelations have the same co-op bullshit at it's base?

game is freaking awesome. the action is a bit over the top, but the shooting is fun as hell. controls are clunky but every single RE game had this. once you get used to it, its no problem. runs smooth as butter. people hate on this game because they want to play a zombie game that's more survival horror. let me just say, if your on the fence as to whether to play this or not and you loved resident evil 4/5 this game is a longer version of those games formula. coop is fun with a buddy for shizzle.
edit: yes it can be played with controller or mouse and keyboard but the mouse and keyboard works really well surprisingly. the camera spins fast and the only time its limited to a straight view is when your sprinting.

People don't like it because they want to play a Resident Evil game like it claims to be.

Holy shit Leon's campaign is full of iconic RE2 aesthetics/environments.
It's like every single room is meant to remind you of RE2.
Train
Sewers
Getting in a car to escape
The campus' desks etc remind me of the RPD's offices
There was to be a party.. but now everyone is dead -> there was to be a "party" for the newbie Leon in RE2 but when he arrived he found everybody dead.
They nailed the aesthetics and atmosphere. The gameplay is not classic RE but it is good. Zombies are back, dozens of them and sometimes it's best avoid them! Fucking Cerberus dogs are hard!
What a pleasant surprise.. at least so far!

The coop partner doesn't bother me in this. I don't have to worry about their health, they don't help much (unless you point them to an enemy) (which is good IMO), you don't have to trade items with them.
RE5 was horrible in that aspect.
Revelations' campaign doesn't support coop.

Not played too much only a little of leons campaign so far, and yeah the aesthetic is right but thats all that it seems is left, but the rest!!!! The icons pointing you to doors is the worst, like follow the yellow brick road shit is annoying, it's like they stripped out EVERYTHING that made res evil a res evil game.. seems like theres no sense of exploration or disovery the wondering what u are going to find through the next too, or even something blocking your access to the next area until u find certain items to pass, are there even any puzzles in this?? or is it all follow this icon to the next area to shoot some more zombies/monsters etc??

This game is quite ok. I think its better than 5 actually. Having much fun playing splitscreen coop. Its a bit harder than 5. But capcom really fucked some things up. Cant remember if its the same as 5 but some zombies laying on the ground arent dead. Even if you shoot them they wont react. Only some event makes them "alive". Like walking over them or pulling a lever. This is sooo bs. And while standing up they are invulnerable. Big fail imo.

its easily better than 5, which is the worst re game so far, but obviously not even close to the magnificent 4.

I'm probably a minority here, but I actually enjoyed res5. That being said, maybe I should give res6 a shot :/

From what I've played Chris' campaign was worse than 5's BUT due to the absence of bullshit management of co-op elements (inventory, health of partner) I might actually prefer it.
The other two campaigns? Easily better than 5's.
So +1 for the "it's better than 5" option.
But ya know, it's supposed to be a big game.. Lots of opportunities to fuck it up
H4wkeye wrote: | Fuck yeah, I noticed that too. And did you notice that police officer at the gas station that fights the zombies and he says 'Oh man my first day on the job and I'm already shooting" hinting at RE2 and how it was Leon's first day on the job too |
I haven't been to a gas station yet, but the gas station itself would be a reference to the intro of RE2, so yay!
