Yes, it actually even works on 4.21 fine out of the box. If you update the game to 1.01 then you need the latest multiman to play it on 4.21 though.

it's just the same thing.. nothing special, but it's fun in local coop IMHO... You can now destroy a little environment, that's the big new thing about this game I guess...

I didn't play much, I'm only in the 2nd mission.

I liked the first game. The second game didn't take to me but for some reason I like this one.

Just running around shooting AI that can't seem to stay behind cover long enough before being shot. It's like the other two games where there is a new story to follow and you can upgrade weapons with cash collect after completing stages of the game.

Done with the demo on the 360 in co-op. Enjoyed it. However, it does not occupy the entire screen when in split-screen mode. There is portion of the corner which is blacked out. This is really disappointing. The weapons customisation was awesome. Me and my brother spent 20 minutes customising and testing out the weapon upgrades. My hate for Frostbite 2 engine on the console is even stronger now. The destructible environments is really good. However, the bloom and poor textures effects are really apparent. Not to mention the occasional tearing part.

It was great fun in co-op though. The over-kill option should be re-named as God mode, as you're practically invincible and have unlimited ammo (Laughing). Didn't see the 'Back-2-Back' feature making a comeback in this game, or at least in the demo. It's been a tradition in both the Army of Two titles. I hope they haven't substituted it with the 'over-kill' feature.

Definitely picking this up for the 360.

LOL yeah I thought the same about overkill, it's really god mode on.

The PS3 version is the same and doesn't take the whole screen in split screen, and the game looks horrid too, compared to single player...

Precisely! Single player occupies the entire screen (as should everything else). I'm not sure if this is an inherent flaw in the game engine, but it's really distracting. All it's previous games with UE3 were absolutely fine on splitting the screen. They could have at least provided the option of vertically splitting the screen, may be that could have eliminated the problem.

Anyhoo, is there screen tearing on the PS3 version? How are the frame rates?

I didn't notice any screen tearing, the game is locked at 30 fps, thus they prolly have vsync enabled.

The aliasing is quite terrible in split screen though, looks like "a port from a x360 game", if you know what I mean. I didn't try the 360 version, but usually when I notice aliasing in a ps3 game, I know the 360 version always looks better !

After playing Tomb Raider on PS3, which has proper FSAA, Army of Two looks terrible... Even in single player it has jaggies (but not that bad).

I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 version is the superior one, although i doubt there are many differences.

That's odd! Battlefield 3 looked pretty smooth on the PS3 and had lesser jaggies and screen-tearing. I assumed the same would hold true for every Frostbite 2 engine games. Guess it differs for each developer.

It's mildly jagged on jagged on the 360. If you use scope zoom, you'll notice how atrocious the character models look. Frame rates are pretty stable though.

I'm not sure what difficulty was present in the demo, but it was ridiculously easy. If the same will be present for the full game, I'd probably start on Hard.

Hmmm the frame rate is stable, it's 30 fps on PS3.

It looks as jaggie as BF3 on PS3 I'd say. I never tried any FB2 game on 360, so maybe this is the same for 360 then ?

I'll let you decide, I suggest you leech the PS3 version too and see by yourself, or the demo at least. Both are pretty small.

The demo works natively on 4.30 without any tinkering right? If I had an extra PS3 controller, I'd pick this up instantly.

I finished it in one sitting, took me about 5 hours. Its an OK game. Straight forward TPS. It could be really fun in coop. But atm, most people will be busy with bioshock anyway.
