A while back I got a great deal on some blank BD's and was thinking I'd end up using more of them. Unfortunately that did not work out and I generally just run my movies through my NAS/media deal. There are a couple of mkv files that I'd like to flat out convert to a BD and be able to let people borrow or have.

Can any of you recommend a good (and preferably free) convertor for that? Or an ISO maker would probably work as well as I can just burn that once it's created. Thanks!

Hi Leo Smile. I know you and I have PM'd about similar things in the past before and you always mention tsMuxer. Which is fine, but do you have a recommended version? Whenever I look around there seem to be numerous versions.

I'd prefer one with a GUI if possible. I believe there is tsMuxerGUI but I'd like to make sure that the version is compatible with the latest codecs that were used.

Thanks!

I think the last one released is 1.10.6. It supports MKV input and Bluray output, and has GUI.

Bummer, didn't work on the Hobbit release. Specifically this one:

The.Hobbit.An.Unexpected.Journey.2012.1080p.BluRay.10bit.48fps.edition.DTS.x264-HDMaNiAcS

Any other suggestions or should I wait for a new/diff release?

Bluray spec does not support 10 bit or 48fps.

Interesting. The title says BluRay and chances are thats where they got their source from, yeah?

No worries though. I can get the regular version and give it a shot. Thanks, Leo.

No, it's custom made. There is no 48 fps Bluray spec, neither is there a 10-bit stream support in the spec. Encoding in 10bit introduces a negligible improvement in banding (due to compression degradation, not source improvement). The 48fps is probably AviSynth filtering shit.

Ahh okay. Thanks for that information. Learn something new everyday. I'll be sure to be more aware in the future.
