1404 uses (Still uses?) Tages, same with the expansion but as said above I believe 2070 uses Uplay and nothing else.

DRM was removed for Anno 1404/Venice and Settlers 6 at around the same time (well, Venice was the last to have the DRM removed).

so, after a long time i thought, go ahead and buy the expansion and play some anno.
Oh the horrors.
First i had to realize, that the game wasn't attached to my uplay account (which is weird, i mean, how did i play this before lol ?)
anyway, wrote a ticket to support :

Strange, that should not happen, if you start UPlay and log in you then go to the little cogwheel icon and "Activate product" paste the serial key there and it will be bound to that account and rendered useless for further activation.
(Which you did.)
Really weird how that instead tells you that the key is already redeemed, you've likely already checked thoroughly but just in case go to the Games tab and in the settings change from favorites (or installed.) to all games.
If it is indeed completely missing then yeah contacting support and sending them the key and account details will be the only thing you can do, really strange.
This is also a earlier Ubisoft UPlay game so it has no actual achievements though it does still have the rewards and actions system for unlocking content with those coins you get for certain accomplishments.
Hopefully support will get back to you with a reply quickly and this can be solved and ideally without getting some third party call center involved with some employee going through a list of pre-made replies or other stuff but I've had that happen both with Steam and Origin so it's always a bit of a gamble, unfortunately.

Same thing happened to me and Might and Magic: Heroes IV sadly. I tried to contact support few times but they seem to be so fking confused about the issue so I gave up and never got chance to finish it.
Well, my issue is that. even tho I added game to my account, it says that the key has been used already.
