true 'most' PC's are generally crap and designed for general browsing and MS Word. The statement and article are bogus.
If it had said 'PS4 will be more powerful than the latest high end gaming PC's' I would have been impressed.
PC nowdays is about customization, innovation and sadly mmo, it's days as power platform are long gone. We only have couple of companies that still make pc centric games that push the hardware to the limit.
I really can only name Projekt Red and provisionally Dice. I'm sure that I forgotten someone, but that really is not enough to make gamers upgrade their comps as they used to in the past. With that the average computer is not as powerfull and will make smaller developers produce less demanding games.

And what has that to do with everything? I made it perfectly clear that I'm talking about games. PC used to push the hardware forward. 3d acceleration, processor, sound, cd, graphics, ram... Every year a game came that made you upgrade your comp. PC was pushing technology and developers made games for the latest thing. Games often didn't work on anything but the latest hardware. Now everything work on five year old tech and we are waiting for PS4 and Xbox to push graphics forward again.

The gap between console and PC gaming has become more apparent this console generation, and Tamasi expects more of the same when PS4 and Xbox 720 get here.
"If history predicts the future, then these next-generation consoles, while being more powerful than the current ones, will very quickly end up more than an order of magnitude behind the PC."

They are not into consoles this generation, so They can easily bash them in order to somehow have more games on pc, so they can sell their's hot gpu's

Yeah I'm a Nvidia "loyalist" and I'm sure there will be plenty of PC outclassing the PS4 on release, but those statements by Nvidia sound so desperately hating I wonder what they're really afraid of.

I think I wouldn't mind if the nvidia hate-train will put a bullet into the consoles head. Not happening, but maybe their influence will at least decrease.
Maybe nvidia will even step up their gpu developement to reallly leave those consoles in the dust as soon as possible
This is clearly nvidia giving a typical PR bulls**t speech because they have been dumped again by a console company first MS now Sony.
Very big contracts for AMD/ATI they now have there hardware in the 3 latest consoles so nvidia will be missing out on a lot of money just because they was to greedy wanting too much on each unit shifted this is one of the main reasons they was dumped by MS & Sony.
Another thing that nvidia bloke is comparing just a card for pc to the console well that card alone costs more then the whole console so this shows he is being silly and they are clearly not happy at being dumped.
I guess until consoles don't get DirectCompute and developers can use it as lowest common denominator, we won't see these frameworks put to proper use. Batman leaves and paper or Lara hair is all bullcrap.
I think we can all agree that no company is "saint". Some are just better at winning people's hearts than others (with good products, but also with smart PR). Unfortunately, when they get big enough, they start with stupid shit like this because they think it will help them remain big.. I guess all reason is lost once you feel threated.
PS3 games will be streamed using the Gaikai technology Sony bought some year ago. That is the only way, as the CPU architecture is completely different.

I think considering Nvidia's position they should look at getting third party partners together to put class leading systems at budget prices that can go under a full-HD telly. A PC gaming computer in a familiar small box with easy plug in and play upgrade options. Would be a true easily customisiable hybrid PC with a heavy emphasis on gaming using something like Steams 'Big Picture'. I know you can build this already but I think something designed for the mass consumer has legs. If Nvidia are serious it must be worth a go.

Yep expect a whole new generation of paying for content you already own. The way broadband is in the UK customers will be lucky if even 720p content is possible using services such as Gaikai. Anyone whose ever used Onlive will know what a dead end this is. The private sector has totally crushed any hope of a sustainable stable broadband system.
