edit:
I just realized like 1/2 my posts I have on the forums is arguing about some form of weird ideas being spread...I bet everyone here thinks I'm a major asshole and probably the most annoying person to hang around..lol
No, it's admirable how much patience you have arguing with these idiots.
Nooo, WE are the idiots. Time will tell....

It's funny how people put their fingers in their ear and say "lalala" whenever someone thinks the government is conspiring against us in well, anything. I don't believe in any current conspiracies, but i sure as hell don't act like a damn retard by dismissing anything and saying "LoL conspiracy retard" or anything similar. Will be funny once something real happens and you fools just lol. The goverments are full of shit as it is, so how implausible is it really?
Who said the govt was perfect, and that they do no wrong?
There is a difference between 'putting your fingers in your ears' and "using logical and procedural study of evidence" to form a conclusion of uncertainty.
You are arguing for the case of "LOL they do bad things, why not assume anything they are accused of might be true..better safe than sorry when it comes to govt suspicions!"
So its retarded to dismiss a claim on lack of evidence? Prove its what you say it is..I will support it, and even promote it as wrong.
But when the evidence is "look see the trails" as the entire basis of what the trails are made of, why they are made, who made them, how long they made them, and what the goal of them is...well THATS stretching it.
Chemtrails uses the same tactics every other conspiracy theory does, and thats to do the opposite of actual logical progression of a thoery..to PILE on unproven guesstimates to validate each other. You cannot jump to a conclusion the clouds full of poison are what making people sick, before you proof the first step..that the clouds are poison.
the idea of "We cant prove any of the claims we make, but if we give you 30 claims, and show how they link up using vague and rough theories, they somehow make each other more true"

There is a COLOSSAL difference between "conspiracy" and "conspiracy theory". Saying that "they can" doesn't mean "they do". These idiots couldn't even cover up Watergate, yet some think there are people who actively and malevolently conspire against the human race in such a widespread manner, that makes the absence of whistleblowers a virtual impossibility.
Some people need to simply understand the simple fact, that unless they present something we can safely label as credible evidence, then there is nothing to talk about. A huge pile of bad evidence does not add up into a single good evidence.
EDIT: I see DXW said the same sentiment, I just used a way that is more widespread in the skeptical community.
A huge pile of bad evidence does not add up into a single good evidence.
AH..again someone put it better than me that's what i was getting at.

Its like me saying haarp is being used to control the bigfoot population by broadcasting theta waves off the atmopshere, because bigfoots have been plaguing the crop growth of american farmers by tramping 1000's of acres of farmland.
And my proof:
People heard of haarp, and how it might be bad without proof that its NOT bad..
People heard of bigfoot, and seen grainy picture of him..
Theta waves are a real thing you can look up, I didn't just make up a wave type..
Crop harvest totals have risen in the last 10 years, can look up the stats...since harp was built and turned on.
Bigfoot sightings have dropped.
So its only logical my assumption of haarp is the cause of the bigfoot population drop, and the effect of that is less crop trampling...leading to more harvest. right? how can you not see that?
Not one of it parts have been proven, but if I give enough bullshit in a row that sounds plausible in small bites..you might swallow the whole thing.
conspiracy theories work just like that..the opposite of actual research.
In research the more data you find that turns out to be 'might not be true' makes the end result they point to less viable each time one is added..as each one adds a variable of 'may not be possible' to the total sum.
conspiracy theories try to do the other way around..the more unproven we give you..the more it proves it.

QFT! No point of acting like scared dickheads if someone brings stuff like this up. I don't believe in this myself but that doesn't mean I have to come here and insult people who do.

Oooooooooooh, so HAARP was designed to protect our crop supplies!!
Anyway, indeed, people work at the government. And people leak shit, always. If you see the crap the government does 'secretly', and it all leaks out, if there is no leak, it did not happen.
The 'secret' Osama killer -> ID leaked
idd, Watergate -> leaked
Clinton blowjobs -> leaked
Secret hooker STD testing in the army -> leaked
secret vaccine testing in Africa -> leaked
secret amphetamine testing in the airforce -> leaked
etc etc etc.
Chem trails, never seen anyone proof anything, so yeah, still a bunch of bullcrap.
Btw, pirates used to suppress global warming. Even if you have reliable data, you can fabricate crap conclusions
QFT! No point of acting like scared dickheads if someone brings stuff like this up. I don't believe in this myself but that doesn't mean I have to come here and insult people who do.
I'm not insulting so much as parodying.
I'm asking for proof. any proof..i mean the slightest bit of proof that actually says what the trails are, the smallest bit of evidence even if they are proven what they are, that they are linked to anything to do with disease or illness.
Not "I see things in the sky, my grandma got sick..they must be related"
And mass paranoia is no better than mass denial..
But the difference is this, one side is not only declaring its true, but trying to panic people about it by 'educating them'...
but our side isnt in 'mass denial' that would imply despite evidence we don't believe it...we are waiting on the evidence to start with. Even if we was, we arent going out of our way to bring it up as if we need to 'educate people' randomly on it.
case example of collective delusion and hysteria, and the paranoia it caused..for no reason at all because a few people speculated and reacted without proof or cause, and convinced others of the chicken little mindset.
So call me what you will, if pointing out to others the idiocy of their believable, yet unfounded, ramblings makes me an asshole..then so be it if it saves others from becoming delusional in the same manner.
Label me the "asshole voice of reason"

Someone makes a claim of a conspiracy. That requires proof of some kind, something to show that it's plausible. Nothing like that has been shown in this thread or any other place where this chemtrails conspiracy theory is being discussed.
Then we have the scientific explanation of what contrails are, how burnt kerosene leaves particles that water drops condense around, forming those white stripes coming after planes on high altitudes. Nothing strange or weird about that.
So right now: chemtrail conspiray = paranoid cockamania nonsense that we can make fun of until proof has been provided.
I bet people simply read about chemtrails on some site and go all "waaaah, conspiracy, government is trying chemical experiments on us" instead of engaging their "critical thinking" part of their brain and think things through.
Silver iodide
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Silver iodide is toxic. It can stain skin. It is not as toxic as other silver compounds that dissolve in water. The iodide also is toxic.
There you go. Case closed.
Accumulations in the soil, vegetation, and surface runoff have not been large enough to measure above natural background.[16] A 1995 environmental assessment in the Sierra Nevada of California[17] and a 2004 independent panel of experts (an overview only is presented in the executive summary of the research ) in Australia confirmed these earlier findings.
They are spraying it so much that it cannot by detected beyond the naturally occurring amount. THOSE DEVIOUS BASTARDS!
I will just echo what Alan Moore (the comic strip guy) said.
Quote:
Doing research into conspiracy theories for his work on Brought to Light, he came to develop his own opinions on the subject of a global conspiracy, stating that "Yes, there is a conspiracy, indeed there are a great number of conspiracies, all tripping each other up… the main thing that I learned about conspiracy theories is that conspiracy theorists actually believe in the conspiracy because that is more comforting. The truth of the world is that it is chaotic. The truth is, that it is not the Jewish banking conspiracy, or the grey aliens, or the twelve-foot reptiloids from another dimension that are in control, the truth is far more frightening; no-one is in control, the world is rudderless."
I agree with him 100%. Most people i know who are into conspiracy theories always think they are a bit special, that they see things others don't and they are always "persicuted" for it. Nice comfort blanket when faced with reality. A guy i know (a friend of a friend) went to a job interview and didn't get the job. He then explained it's because he knows what's going on and they are punish him for it.
Can't take reality? Believe in conspiracy theories!
Read 4 pages in bed... Fell asleep, woke up read the rest... Nothing of value added.
Regardless I'm with others here... I'm open minded but I need some tangible proof to really take something as possible fact. These conspiracies like Jews behind 9/11 and stuff would really really lead to a whistle blower. Can you imagine the manpower needed for these chemtrail experiments? Lab guys to make it, officials, politicians, pilots, etc.... Someone would bark!
Cloud seeding I'm bit more interested in, in terms of weather manipulation and making clouds snow in non mega city areas and such. I think Russia wanted to look into it not sure if it's a hoax or what though.
How I feel Max, everyone that talks to me about things like this gets that "you have a closed mind..not willing to accept things!" attitude.
Im all for accepting new things, just not off a bunch of hearsay and speculation. I take the 'cynical pessimistic' scientific approach. You/them/someone studying it needs to give me proof beyond what I myself could make up that its real, for me to think it has merit. If I myself can find holes and issues with the proof...then I doubt its good proof.
You could tell me the sky is really red, and I will argue its blue all day because its what we know so far based of the evidence we can gather and test.
But if you then come with some actual proof of how we found out its really red, but our eyesight combined with some sort of spacial distortion caused by gravity and magnetic interference causes it to only LOOK blue...Id be the first to update my view, and try to educate others of the new findings when it comes up
I hold the idea of "I must be as willing to defend my stance as eagerly, as I am willing to give it up, if proven incorrect by new findings"
But if your proof is the lack of proof being suspicious, and the govt is covering up the info of the actual sky color because of some plane its working on that they need to blend into the blue we see, but have no proof of any of it beyond random websites that look like the old angelfire pages, and youtube videos with scary music made by some guy with windows video editor using soundbites from some 'scientist' that the majority of other respected scientist thinks is a quack...then, well.. that's not proof...
Thats a lot of people thinking that spreading speculation makes it more true.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
What do you mean? It's simply a low FOV photo with slightly longer than usual aperture time.
Maybe it was captured during a lunar eclipse, when the Earth's atmosphere casts a red glow on the moon just before it dips below the planet's shadow. Although since it's so close to the horizon, I guess it's the same phenomena that makes the Sun look red just before it sets (the light has to travel longer in the atmosphere, appearing redder and redder as it scatters). All the smog above the city surely helps with this. Beautiful shot, though.
A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.[1] The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. However, the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing. [2]
