Fanorona on Expert (at Homestead) is so fucking infuriating. Did anyone manage to win that? The game is cool (didn't know about it until I saw it in this game), but the way they handled it is just stupid as far as I'm concerned.
Oh man. This is retarded. My friend deleted his old email with his order confirmation (and key) on it a while back. AC3 is attached to his account but I think he is outta luck on re-d/ling the files if he ever formats his system. Sheesh. Brutal.

Now, the first game still means a lot to me, but I think I'm ready to say that I have a new favourite Assassin's Creed game. I just finished it, after around 70 hours, and it didn't bore me a single second. I absolutely loved it. The main characters were great in general, but Haytham and Charles Lee take the trophy. Connor really grew on me too. I will never understand the hate for him now, as I found him quite awesome in the end. I loved the previous games, but it's the first time that I feel like I don't want an AC game to end. I still have some stuff to do in it and I might strive for 100% synchronization. Oh yeah, Desmond's parts in this one were absolutely great! AND, I know the combat is still quite easy, but it is a huge step in the right direction. While not that challenging, I find it really fun and a lot of times I start fighting just because I like it. I love how brutal it is now, that's for sure!
What did you think of the urban environments? (mainly Boston and NY), if it wasn't because I found them lacking (and kinda boring, except for the underground tunnels) when compared to cities in the previous games, I would have concluded it was the best AC I played as well.
I found them good enough. I never really cared what cities there were in the AC games though. I care more about the general location and while it never got me excited for this one, it turned out to be really cool. You probably found them lacking because of their nature, but I think they were really nicely done. I loved all the backstreets and what not. The chases are more awesome than in the other games in my opinion. I also loved charting them, both underground and at street level. I'm a sucker for unveiling fog of war in games that do it like that, haha!
Found all the pivots, by the way. It's cool that they let you play with the weather/time of day/season. Also, the Thunder Strike one is so fucking awesome! Every time you kill an enemy, Thor lights up the sky!
so far i havent run into any framerate problems, and it looks pretty good.. MY problem is that the fucking thing tends to crash during cutscenes. and its not random either, if it happens once, it'll happen again at the same point in that same cutscene, so if im going to play it, its going to be without any of the story...

Yeah, I already said in my mini-review that I probably disliked the cities because of their nature (they were just like that at that point in history), but they were still in the game and what matters is that I couldn't enjoy them as much.

Can you explain this? Made me curious as in my whole playthrough up till finishing the story (I'm not obssessed withh 100% completion like Neon ) I didn't see a way tho do that.
You have to get the pivot for each. 3 of the 12 pivots let you change the weather, the time of day and the season. The game explains what you need to do in order to find them (after the credits and after traveling a bit around...), but the idea is that you get 3 pivots at start and you use them on your map to triangulate the position of the pivots that the game scanned for you (which are placed randomly by other players that did this from what I understand). You keep narrowing down the area until you find it. At first it seemed like it would be really annoying, but it was fun actually.

Once in game, hit ESC and in your Options (I believe) at the bottom is something called "Animus Hack". It gives you various "cheats" (such as invincibility and unlimited ammo, stealth, etc...) but also the ability to change the weather and time of day.
I didn't initially have that capability but after patching and installing the Washington DLC, I do. I'm not sure which of those actually did it, though.

Hmm, you could try increasing your GPU's voltage or decreasing core clock by a bit. I had a similar problem, but doing either one of these things fixes it.
- Fixed exploit that allowed the player to validate many different streaks for the same kill/stun
- Fixed issue with smoke bomb ability
- Fixed character stuck in texture at Saint Pierre map
- Fixed targeting exploit
- Fixed issue with Animus Hack ability
- Fixed some UI/overlap related bugs
- Matchmaking is now more friendly to group search
- Loyalty feature should work properly now
- Issue with weather effect fixed
- Other minor bugs fixed
- Added quick access to Abstergo Store from any screen via one-click on the wallet zone inside Templar Profile area in the top-right corner.
- Added new tip about the Abstergo Store explaining its goals and opportunities to novice players.
