lol same. I dled the reloaded release of WoL and a clone of HotS. WoL installs fine from disk. then it tries to download 8 gb from net, so i stopped and put in the clone... just to see it start those 8 gb anyway. Guess no matter if you buy or not, you'll download hots and the dvd's are just for show rofl (well, there is data on it, but the installer simply ignores it).
oh well, once i'm done, i put in the savefile and then block it from the net so it cant get patched anymore. And i can play the campaign in peace 
add : ok, done downloading, double clicked save game, logged into my legit account and you can still play campaign
worst case, as i see it, they ban me from sc2 rofl.

i could use a guide to play hots since my patience is running dry for this stupid scene to release something, i understand when the protection is god damn difficult but in this case is just lazyness since its the same as sc2 and even the users found a workaround to play it, so lame

Blizzard is the only company that has never disappointed me with their SP campaign. Even the "hated" D3 with its online-only model had a great story and first playthrough.
@nightfox you can play the SP campaign with a workaround and the old razor WoL crack... I think someone already posted the instructions or a link here.

they have somewhere live chat, at support home page. is fast, i think i waited top 10-15 min when i used it.

Interinactive plz don't get upset on me but why someone would put his phone number on their accounts if they change it? There is close to no reason to change a phone number except some fancy idiotic ideas. A phone number its something private, if you got tired of getting many phone calls than don't give it, if you buy a new phone you can always keep the number, i really see almost no reason. If you know you change your numbers often than just don't use that security method, i can see no reason why to blame blizzard or anyone for this, its entirely you fault, when you changed you number you should checked your accounts that has your phone and change it or something.

unbelievable hard to buy pc games in London shops now. Been trying for past two days to buy this. Thought it would be quicker then mail-order as I didn't pre-order before release date. How wrong I was.. Game, HMV, game station have all closed down, many of the out of way independent shops don't stock PC games either. It's all console games.
meh wanted a legit box copy but just going to go ahead and purchase a key instead. Don't want to jump through hoops with a cracked version. Besides I want to take it online too.
20 missions in this one right?.

even ticket support is usually top notch. Each time i had an issue (last one , was because my old number didn't work anymore) also was solved during the same day (by simply sending them a jpg of a picture id).

played a couple hours and so far, its very polished and very varied. You have your "hero" missions, you have your build and destroy missions, you have race against the clock type missions. Tons of speeches and cut scenes in between missions. You can switch skills of your hero (basically you always have to chose between 2 different skills per tier and there are like 8 tiers). Also you get evolution missions, which basically portrait different evolution paths you can take (which are permanent). Like with the Zerglings, you can either go with the jumper zergs (can jump over ridges etc) or with the fast spawning ones. Roaches with roachlings or roaches with slowing poison etc. Plus each unit can be changed in between missions, to something better (attack faster, or have more armor etc), which isn't permanent.
Absolutely worth it, i'd say (at least for me).

if you have wings of liberty, simply download the savegame that was posted by jbeckman earlier in this thread, update your sc2 (just launch it) and then start the game by executing the savegame (double click the save file) and you'll be in the first mission of the campaign.
And its kinda secure. Its not our fault, that blizzard makes us download the whole expansion, no matter if we own it or not lol.

i look at it like this :
they forced me to download Hots.
all i did, was using a savegame file (unmodified or anything) and it launches the game. I even have to log in, before it starts the game.
Its not my fault, its theirs. Worst case, they block access to hots (as it should be), period.

Well like i said yesterday HOTS is nothing more than huge patch for WOL. Loading the save in offline mode with original game shouldn't do harm. If you don't leave any trace you played it they can't catch you i guess? Only way is to unlock achievements when you don't own it,but achievement are disabled in offline mode aren't they?
