Well, seems like the game is working fine now. I'm working all weekend anyways, but logged in quick and it seems like it is working like it should.
By fine do you mean with all the online features disabled and servers still disconnecting people or misreporting status?
I haven't been experiancing any issues now. Leaderboards may still be disabled, but the gameplay and region transfer shit seems to be working fine.
They admit it isn't working fine, as I already gave you the link for, and plenty of people on their forums reporting it isn't working fine.
The leaderboards are disabled, cheetah speed still isn't enabled, people who started games on certain servers can't play them, additional servers != load balancing and improving performance.
They also disabled the ability to find friends in game..cause you know..who playing a game online would want to do that..
I’ll keep this short since almost everyone who cares is busy building cities and making friends in SimCity.
Maxis continues to make huge progress in addressing the lag and server-capacity issues we experienced at launch. We’ve improved our server response time by 40x, we’ve doubled the number of players in the game at the same time and reduced server down times.
The situation is good, but not good enough. And since my boss is one of the negatively affected (!) - we’re still driving hard to get everyone online, playing together, and no hitches.

The new servers we rolled out have a new faster set up. We are now dedicated to updating our original servers so that those of you who have been playing these past few days can get the benefits on servers where your cities are played. To do this, we will have to take the original servers down one by one to upgrade them. The improvements will be worth the downtime, and thanks for hanging with us as we do this. We’ll also be adding more tonight as well. We’ll be sending out detailed info shortly through our community forums and launcher.

Everyone is just too impatient, there is always problems with new releases it is just because it is ea and this always online shite they will fix it eventually.
Online shit won't EVER be fixed... they said it will always be online cause it's too much game for out puny comps to handle.
And yeah we are "impatient" because it should of worked when it came out. I mean the beta tests proved that their shitty servers were unstable. Yet they did nothing.
Oh and thanks everyone for paying EA and Maxis so they basically be like "well everyone was like 'no fucks givin'". So they can continue shitty service into the future.

Now that it is working good I can totally suggest picking the game up. As the game itself is great. It was also nice to find out that i'll get a free game on the 18th. Hopefully it's any game on Origin as I still need to pick up Tomb Raider. Although if I would have known I was getting a free game I would have waited to just pick up Crysis 3.

It was quite windy so the scene rls has been delayed, we can now expect it with full confidence on Monday at 19.40 and 23 seconds, if by any chance it would snow we would need another 2 hours 33 minutes and 15 seconds. We hope you can understand!
I had no login issues, but i'm on a server that was added yesterday. There are loads of bugs/lag issues still though.
The game has a charme and is fun for a couple of hours. Simcity 4 is the better game though
The game is a dumbed down version of simcity, making money is a joke. I don't realy care about the city size though it is small, I think that the lack of dept in general is a bigger problem.
I haven't got a lot of sky scrapers though, mostly cause my city is drooling in shit cause:
my trash city refuse to take it all (lag?) and i'm not allowed to build a processing plant. This is a specialisation thing, but broken intercity play kills it. There are more little bugs like this.
In general, the game is very avarage. It is overpriced (20$ should be fine for a game like this)
I've they fix the bugs/server issues i would give it 65/100

Making money actually becomes fairly problematic later, especially if you don't rely on regional play. Tourism-specialized cities seem to be okay regardless, though (although they can be detrimental to other cities in the region). As for the intercity play being broken: I noticed a similar issue the other night. Loading the original city with the specialization, after starting and connecting the new city, seems to kick it back into working order, but it does seem to be a bug.
I won't comment much on your opinion of the game, everybody is entitled to one especially because I don't entirely consider this a SimCity game (it's more of a reboot). However, I will say that it's a lot more complex than it first appears, but you can't see that until you've developed a city a lot and engaged in regional play. Unfortunately, since the servers are up and down, regional play is halfway broken or disabled, etc., this is pretty difficult to see at the moment.
not sure what that video shows, that irl people would take longer path for better road? there were no traffic jams so maybe if there were they would go around
