It runs on a shitty integrated chip, but the game needs server side processing to help with the complexity of the computehtionz

Yeah but don't worry, as soon as mainstream computers will become more capable, Maxis will certainly make the city sizes larger.

You are so utterly full of shit.

The city size was one of the things that made it so complex. Anyone can manage a postage size village.

This is like saying "Hey if you ignore the size, this RV is great for running to the corner store to get some milk or taking the kids to soccer practice!"

starcraft maps are smaller than supreme commander maps, hence starcraft must not only be easier but also worse.

stop telling us how shit the game is when u dont even own it. and we don't need to hear for the thousands time how cheap the game is in korea and that you still won't buy it because you hate EA. thanks.

You guys really need to form a club..the problem is I don't know how we'd decide who the leader of the idiots would be.

You're all clear front-runners.

EA has royally fucked this game from just about every angle. From design to execution and everything in between.

So it seems will have a free game from the Origin store as a compensation...

Mmmhhhh what about some free DLCs instead?
(I don't see any another interesting game in your store tbh ^.^ )

Come on EA, you did already sell many more SC5 copies than you expected...
Save your dignity at least.

As much as I think the game is a lot of fun, it suffers from a lot of different things.

Traffic is fucking retarded, plus there is no subway system which is quite dumb. Entire traffic system is just plain wrong especially at higher populations
So is the whole tax thing, I mean c'mon, 12% tax is too much? Give me a break.

There are other plenty of bugs but they are non-ground breaking just minor silly stupid shit that makes you so fucking aggravated you want to punch your monitor

And this retarded you run out of water crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I should go to sleep, started my city at 4PM..now it's 2AM lol

Ps. did they fix anything about servers ?

It's really disappointing and infuriating seeing people continue buying the game even now when they are aware of the problems with the always on DRM. With that attitude there is absolutely no chance for change in the industry. What could possibly EA executives learn from this experience? That no matter how hard you fuck the consumers they will still continue paying? That a free origin game is always a way out of anti consumer decisions in the future.

I'm not criticizing the game specifically or the people who play and enjoy it. I'm just thinking that at times people have to learn to delay satisfaction and learn to stand for their rights as consumers if they want to make a change in the future. I imagine how awesome it would have been if the game was a major disaster for EA not only PR wise, but sales wise as well...a lesson for the whole industry perhaps.

Edit:

Quote:
In what has to be the most incredible display of PR spin seen in a videogame crisis, an Electronic Arts spokesperson has claimed SimCity's notoriously awful DRM setbacks are a result of the game being just too gosh-darn enjoyable to quit! No, this isn't an Onion article.

"What we saw was that players were having such a good time they didn't want to leave the game, which kept our servers packed and made it difficult for new players to join," explained senior producer Kip Katsarelis on EA's forums.

The remark has already led to SimCity being renamed to SpinCity (thanks to Hollander Cooper!) in celebration of an almost impressive bit of damage control. SimCity is now the game too fun to work, and it's all your fault for wanting to play it so badly.

Amazing.

Well, yesterday, I manged to play some 6 hours.

I got one city rollback (I think... 20 minute rollback) and once I lost connection when trying to switch to neighboring city I had claimed.

Day before yesterday, I manged to clock in 5 minutes in 7 hours of trying Razz

nah, its not that. I am not judging anyone for buying the game, because they want to play it (either be interest or because the already tried it), but buying it DESPITE all the issues and problems. Instead of saying "fuck it" and wait for something to change.

And yeah, i like meat, but i am so disgusted on how meat is "produced", that eat VERY little, if at all, out of conviction.

I also want to play the game, but the thing is, i do NOT want to see this business model succeed. It already has, but i don't want to contribute to it's success. It's basically a f2p game for 60$ and loads of micro transactions and DLC's in the coming future. It has probably cost more than most f2p games, but i do not doubt they kept the cost as low as possible.
