Hey guys,
So I got a newish monitor that's perhaps 6 months old or so.
Samsung SyncMaster S24B350
Problem:
Not sure when it started but my monitor seems to have a strange habit.
When I power on my PC and Monitor (seperate, not a single power switch) my monitor turns on for a split second and goes into sleep mode and the red light just blinks (like when I go afk for a while).
Then the following things can happen:
1. This problem won't go away no matter how many times i turn on monitor by pressing the power button, it just blinks on and then back to sleep mode. All I can do at this point is pull out the power cable on the back of the monitor and back in. Problem solved.
2. The monitor turns on for a little longer and goes back to sleep, i can repeat this and each time it stays on a bit longer, while doing this the monitor makes a very low beep sound and the colors are less bright. at some point the beep goes away and colors become brighter and problem is solved.
This problem seems to only be happening when I haven't been on the PC for a longer while, like overnight or I been away for some hours.
Kinda clueless what's going on.
Greets.

If have warranty RMA it, otherwise:
Blown capacitors maybe? You can try opening it up and check if there are any capacitors that have a slight bulge on the top, which means they are blown. Luckily they are extremely cheap any can be replaced by anyone with even basic electronics knowledge.
I have found that when screen takes a few (dozen) minutes to start working properly, it almost always means a blown capacitor.
However I never had one go to sleep mode because of it, so that might not be it.

When it does this, try shining a bright light on the monitor at an angle, then see if you can see your mouse, window, or monitor's menus on screen. If that's the case, you've got a backlight problem.
I only say this because I JUST RMA'd two of my S27B350s and will most likely have to RMA my third one in the next couple of weeks.
But, yeah, RMA that bitch any which way. Also, I give Samsung support top marks for getting me my new monitors very quickly. They told me to expect them after the 23rd of March and they came in yesterday. I also got the advanced RMA. Of course, they require a credit card to do that, but they only place a hold on the account and you have 30 days once you receive the new monitor to ship your old one back (complete with a prepaid shipping label from them). They even called me to help speed up the process.
Good luck!
