I know what motion blur is supposed to do, but it never does that properly in games.
When I move my head, everything I see does not suddenly become a blurry incomprehensible mess like it does in game implementations of motion blur. If I turn slow, the effect is just wrong and if I turn fast, I won't be able to make all too much sense of the fast changing image anyway (and here you have people that would prefer 120Hz screens to reduce the effect, for "smoothness").
Either way, you can't really compare what you see with your eyes and what you see through a viewport that occupies a small part of your field of vision (and has in turn it's own limited FOV in game).

Then try waving your hand in front of you and fixate your eyes on the hand. The hand remains sharp. This is something they can't do, so you could perfectly understand the reason why some people dislike motion blur in games.

you already have a motion blur from your own eyes/brain, why add another on top ?

I dont think it's the same. Things are moving on the screen with limited hz... whatever. I dont know. I jsut prefer it with mb

But... but... it's even more cinematic!1
It's the most useless effect present on any modern game for me, and although it really isn't much intrusive in this game disabling an effect that I dislike and gaining a couple of more fps while doing it is a win-win in my book.

No you don't. When a game doesn't have motion blur, your eyes/brain do not magically add to it. You need to explicitly put it in game.

Only in locations where it's intended. There are places where there's no "grey veil", in which case the same changes by SweetFX will probably do harm.

It's a 8.5/10 game for me. The sequel only needs bigger tombs with more brain-racking puzzles which are integrated into the main story and not left aside as optional undertakings. Everything else can be left untouched.

This game doesn't do absolutely nothing right.
I'm pewpewing left and right with my machine gun killing hundreds upon hundreds of humans standing right next to red exploding barrels and shouting stuff like "yeah, I'm gonna take you all out bastards, I'm coming for you!"
Where the fuck is the "a survivor is born", "Lara is inexperienced in this one", "you'll want to protect her" moments that I was promised and the game conveniently remembers only during cutscenes? I'm the fucking Terminator in this game.
Max Fucking Payne wasn't half of the killing machine Lara Croft is in this.
And the stock characters are so bad in this 
Greedy scientist
Fatherly figure
Friendly "in touch with the spirit world" guy
And the NON stop Michael Bay moments pretty much have made me so tired of all the explosions and near death moments. These are supposed to be exciting but if they are in your face every 5 minutes they become a chore.

I didn't felt like there was too much shooting.
did people forgot that Lara was running around with 2 pistols, maching gun, shotgun and other weapons in even first 3 games ? Mowing tons of people/animals.
And don't You dar say a bad word about Max Payne. He is a hero of gaming !

I always disable motion blur, and very often DOF, unless its well done. rmember gothic 3 DOF? or two worlds?

; anyway although its pretty liniar, game is spectacular, definitely a goty candidate imo. Didnt tried mp yet but it probably sucks
