Was watching this as it happened, the chat went mental. he had 3 crashes in the space of about 20mins...
Then managed to get a decent city going again and bang after about 40mins, it just booted him back to main menu... Thank fuck i stayed away from this shit.

I have no trouble at all logging in and playing but a couple hours in and I have no room to build. Im so sad and beaten down about this game and how ea ruined it.

The sad thing most of all is the arrogance and gall of these people. Its not even the people creating the game. Its These bastards that get of on manipulation and control, and the ones that offer nothing to people, only to skim the cream off the top. Welcome to the future. We need a good old fashioned revolution and get these elitist power mongers off our planet. Gaming is nothing, these people are infiltrating our lives, fuck them. But give them a little credit, they really dont want your money, or controll per say they want you dead. This shit is all tests to see what they can et away with atm, and they plan and hope for much much worse.

To be fair; Simcity 5 (And likely 4) wouldn't have even happened without EA's funding.
And I want to make it perfectly clear that this is easily the best Simcity. I've played them all (2000 being my favourite) and this one is just so much better in every way when it comes to the actual gameplay. It's just EA's shitty launch / server crap that is ruining it.
Yes, the cities are 20-30% smaller, but because of how the region system works the entire intent of the system is to have one person (or many) build multiple cities that all support each other. (Which is more in line with real life)
Some people may not like this concept, but I enjoy it. Also, while the map is smaller then (Let us say) simcity 4; You have to focus more on density. I highly doubt that those people who are saying they've ran out of room in a couple of hours and are mad at the game actually have 3+ level density throughout their city.
But as it stands the game itself is fucking tarnished by unstable gameplay due to the MMO style game connectivity. Loosing 40 minutes of gameplay due to a server desync is fucking shit. Fuck EA for this. Even more so because they are such a huge god damn company that should have had server capacity issues dealt with on day 1.

kickstarter would have been all over that. Unfortunately Maxis only exists in name and is not an independent studio.

Yes, in retrospect he could have done that. That was what, more then a decade ago though? No one knew back then what it would be like post 2012-ish.

Wright came up with epic concepts and then EA went all DLC and how to make more money out of his projects. SPORE was epic in the beginning. Then it got nerfed. Sims had an awesome concept. it got nerfed. And sim city got a serious nerfage. DAT DAY 1 DLC for awesome buildings. 
I would love to see sim city to go back to its roots with an updated engine, w/o the gay bull shit that's in this one.
