I assume all of this is singleplayer? If that's the case how does it compare when testing on multiplayer?

On the infantry map I get a decent FPS maxed out, but as soon as I open the helicopter one it drops to 10-15fps :/

The auto values it set weren't bad though, it still looks amazing

Is that with everything maxed?

I fear my G73sw won't run this very well, even at medium settings Sad

Looking great but im not that interested in the MP or SP but i wants the DayZ!!!

DayZ is overrated and overhyped.
Also the main dev is teasing for about 6 months already and counting, + he missed he's own deadline which was December 2012.

No its not, its fucking awesome and thats why its popular....

Here you have the Alpha at max details. It looks really good, but to be honost, so do Arma 2 at max details and I don't think it looks THAT much better. If I didnt know it was Arma3 in the gameplay, I honostly coulnt tell the difference...

Only thing giving it away is that movement is not as clunky in Arma3 as in Arma2

Also, already custom missions out for Arma3:

steal the car is an old arma std mission, people are just porting over the whole shit to get rep.. period..

if u look there are already people porting in chernarus and other maps just because they wanna be known as first!!!!! yawn Very Happy

agreed though the texure and look is pretty sim to arma2 just better definition of things like floor/walls etc, but you know what I can do that with sweetfx that brings out details exactly like that Razz

as for animations,, thank fuck they are better in arma3 Very Happy

False, it is using some code and models of it, but it is in its essence (netcode, etc.) ARMA2, or 2.5 if you will.

Yes, yes I'm back.

God i am not that bothered about how this game looks as such, i just hope that it doesnt feel like fucking glue walking in and out of buildings like happens when playing Dayz...

Jesus that engine just feels so NOT right for the game.

Dayz as a whole is a fantastic experience, let down with some nasty engine issues.

If they are going to be using a modified arma2 engine, i hope they spend their time (already are by the looks of things) actually getting it to feel more playable.

First impressions of friends looking at dayz is holey shit that interface and engine looks sluggish...

Really? Why they promoted the game with the ARMA 3 engine back then Confused I guess they made a decision to use the ARMA 2 engine after all :\

Maybe due to Take on Helicopters engine was the latest build of the "Real Virtuality" which isn't under development.

It runs like a dream on my 2600k/GTX580, almost maxed out (which it autodetected). Maxed out visibility

The movement, shooting, ragdoll enemies, radio chatter are all so much better So Much Win

Edit: The below screenshot is maxed out and I'm getting around 40 frames (no SMAA, only FXAA ultra, SMAA seems to make it look blurry and shit (or pretty much like a console game))

Wow, way better than I expected then.

I guess ArmA's usual "floating" mouse controls have been tuned up as well, right? I read that removing any kind of negative acceleration was one of their #1 priorities. Razz
