We understand your point. Understanding it, and caring about is are not the same thing.
You dislike displays of gender specific treatment that has no purpose other than to compliment for sake of purpose and tradition.
The point you made is easy to understand, the usefulness of it in the context of the conversation isnt.

So complementing someone (without knowing anything) just to cheer up a person that is sad is a wrong thing to do?

No his had an intent of helping the original posters moral, as that was the topic of the discussion and her lack of it lately. It was directly involved in the subject matter and the dilemma she was facing of her faith in herself so to speak. yours was an internal observation you wished to share that added nothing to the subject at hand.
So TECHNICALLY your was far more pointless when dealing the the original topic than his.

Just to cheer someone up, is that so hard to grasp for you?
Did you had nobody around you to cheer you up in harsh times or what?

If Ron was a cheerful guy he would understand that concept... alas ron has no need for good cheer :< |

I guess I could say then for all the well wishing you got that was uncalled for when you pointed out a problem YOU had (as she is doing):
Regardless, I find it a particular disgusting indulgence in futility these displays of concern and compassion for the mere sake of satisfying a empathic social code.

I didn't see you telling people to fuck off with hoping you the best...
Strange you stayed quiet when the compassion was directed towards you, with the only hint a simple "its ok dont worry about it, its not your concern" type reply.
But when someone else receives the same treatment, you have to point out how useless it is, and we should feel bad for 'acting out the roles'.

And he was giving a solution. Her problem was a lack of faith in herself and her moral trustworthiness as others saw it. he was pointing out from his point of view, she was.
either way, Just because you don't like something means that it will cease to exist. You can dislike gender based compliments all you like. But unless they are directed at or from you, or involve you in some way...you should not speak up.
I mean how dare you regulate or dictate how someone should speak. You are for people being as they wish right? not as other wish? OR does that only apply to you?

I just wanted to wish you all the best Pistol, it is a stressful (and unlucky o.O) situation indeed, but you're incredibly strong and I know that you'll make it through They better not mess with the mighty pistol shrimp or she'll snap 'em in a heartbeat!

You know what, if that's true. then fuck you in return.. I'm done. I'm tired of when you get into a corner, resorting to calling people troglodyte is your comeback of why you are right. Your main argument isn't to explain why you think you are right, its always back into a corner and explain why the others cant understand you are right..It just makes you look LESS secure in your argument because you aren't backing up what you say to make it look better..your defacing the opposition in an attempt to make them look worse.
You can die with your dignity intact that you both dismissed everyone's appeal to your mortality, the satisfaction that you took what was your only mortal flaw, and rubbed it in peoples faces that you could care less that they asked how you was getting by with it.
So either way I can say its a good day:
I come to terms with the excitement that either I wont have to read your posts much longer
or
the excitement of in a few months you are still here, and of all the people to do it, can be called out for trying to play a pity card just so you could swat down the pity as it came in, in smug self satisfaction.
So I can say, with a bit of totally apathy for the anger it might cause..That in a few months either way is 'win win' for me.
edit:I hope this does not piss him off into a rage. I mean it would be a bit hypocritical to get upset at me for having a lack of empathy, for the guy that bitches at people for having empathy... I'm just following you teachings here.

That statement by itself speaks highly of your definition of logic.
Everything I've said in this thread, might conflict with your perspective of common social manners. But illogical, no, absolutely not.
I come from the viewpoint that any statement, any action, has to have an objective reason to justify it.
To make the claim that you act in a certain way because that's what others accept is not an objective reason, it is a subjective one. And therefore a flawed reason.
