I've made some recordings of a Yamaha DB50XG equivalent playing various classic DOS game midi songs and uploaded them on Youtube. It was arguably the best wavetable card of it's time. Just thought I'd drop a link here for fellow classic gaming connoisseurs. Enjoy!
sounds nice ... now you can also get the same results but you need to hook up your DOSBOX or WINDOWS with TiMidity-CVS081206 a midi program that uses sound samples from Yamaha or other midi sound cards and then use it as your Midi decoder
i use it for dosbox or older windows 98 games

It was 1995, and Microsoft had just released their latest OS called Windows 95. Inside this OS was powerful support for media, including MIDI. Stashed away in the Windows directory were some MIDI files that any curious user would stumble upon, craving to listen to some music on these new and incredible machines...
This MIDI is particularly special because it sounds even better when played with better soundcards/soundfonts. This was played on Timidity++ 2.13.2 MIDI emulator with the "057.9mg ALL In ONE Light GM Bank.sf2" sound fonts loaded. Yes, you too can play midi that sounds this good on your Windows computer without buying another soundcard!
