I have to buy a new headset, as the old one is just unusable now. It's not broken but the foam is completely detached and it sounds worse than it used to do so...
I've pretty much decided on the Sennheiser HD 558, I tried them on and they felt very comfortable and sounded good as well. Now mind you I'm a complete noob when it comes to audio, but I read something about headset amplifiers being necessary if you want to get the most out of certain headsets (I didn't read it the HD 558 in particular, but I read it when I was looking for headsets) and my question is, do you guys think I would need one (to get the most out of it) for the Sennheiser HD 558 or is that more for high end headsets (for DJs and the like)?
Also, I currently have the Logitech Z-4 as audio for my computer, I assume that one won't do as a headset amplifier right (told you, I'm a complete noob, I know a lot about computers, overclocking etc, but audio is my one weak point )?
If I do need a headset amplifier, which would you recommend?
