Beta is in Q2 2013 so I kinda doubt it. Smile
(March 5th for the alpha release though.)

EDIT:
Quote:

The Arma 3 Alpha runs from 5 March 2013 until the Beta becomes available (expected in Q2 2013).

(From the info linked to in my earlier post on the previous page which leads to the alpha information and also the store page which compares the different editions of the game.)

That's great news, I will definitely buy this for the alpha. Really like that it runs until the beta and I guess beta until release. Count me in

To be fair, this is what Bohemia has always done only they're putting a label on it this time.

Looks like they updated the site with:
Quote:
The full and final version of Arma 3 is scheduled for release in Q3 2013.

(not 100% definitive I think, since it will depend on the state of the alpha/beta Razz)

It requires an invite to get access to the Alpha-Lite (no multiplayer or editor). You get 4 free invites when you buy the game so there will be plenty of spare invites laying around.

There is actually full editor for Alpha Lite only saving function is disabled Smile

And yeah, Free Alpha (Lite) is invite only tho they will share invitations on facebook, twitter, forum etc (confirmed).

I rarely save my editor stuff anyway. I just create huge battles, watch them, then close it. 200 hours of ArmA 2 dedicated to just doing that...

Very Happy

Same here, I even don't have finished the main campaign and started Arrowhead's one...

Count me in for the beta, damn another game development participation I start to love this.
Once a time I cryed when a final game had bugs, now I am happy to find one in an alpha Laughing

I will also share the 4 beta light invites "somewhere" here Wink

Edit: OMG the map is only 20km², this game is a total failure ! Shocked
(joke inside)

i wish i could have the patience to learn to use the editor inside out and then make missions.

I hope ARMA 3 will improve in the sound department. after using JSRS i cant deal with stock sounds anymore.

Yep, I must've only done 3 or 4 of the campaign missions, yet I have all the DLC. We should get a proper ArmA community going, regular MP missions and stuff.

It's easier than you think. However It tuns out more complex if you want to add scripts to your missions.

Just for clarification, the pre-order package on their site isn't available until March 5th as well, correct? That's the message I get but the web page takes ages to load for me so I'm not sure if it's accurate or not.

Will be there. There are 4 Singleplayer Showcases in the alpha: Infantry, Vehicle, Helicopter, Underwater.

Yeah, nothing aside from the footage shown during the 'big conferences', but prepare to see lots of new material after the alpha gets released.
