Combat was just fine in the old titles. It made the game a lot harder than this seems to be and without bringing anything bad with it. You couldn't one-shot enemies and you couldn't use some dumb finisher on them. I see they played the modern card. Funny, devs seem to think that everything that's modern is better. Whatever floats their boat...

Ah right, the QTE stuff and finishing moves that has been added to the game, I didn't think about that.

Yeah, you just had to hold the fire button and jump/run around. Very challenging.

At least it was a lot more challenging than this seems to be. The old games were also not focused on combat, so it didn't need more complex combat, not as far as I am concerned.

We'll see how the combat is, but it can't be worse than the original games for me personally.

Well, that's what you think. I care about what I think and I can't not be annoyed by such claims and by what they've changed in this in general. The biggest problem with the new one is the fact that they turned it into a shooter. Tomb Raider was never a shooter and I loved that. This is not my main problem with this game however. The problems are more like things that this game being a shooter brings. It's also the removal of things like swimming and what not. I don't care that some people are ok with that or that they wanted something new from this franchise. I'm a TR fan and I'm not ok with that, nor did I want something new. I didn't get bored by 5 games that were almost the same gameplay wise. Do you think I got bored by 3? What CD did with this remake/reboot trilogy was the perfect thing. They brought TR to the modern times and improved on the old formula. Now they do something new, just like Core Design did with AoD, only even that seems to be a better TR game than this. This game will probably be a good game. But that's not what I want. I want a proper Tomb Raider game again.

You don't have to be OK with what other people think, no one is forcing you to. We're just sharing opinions. For me personally the old TR games were enough, I wasn't waiting for yet another sequel. I like the changes they're trying to make, I'll see how the changes worked out when I'm playing the game.

Any word on the game's protection? Will it have something else than Steam?

The combat is one of the highlights in this game. The bow is extremely satisfying to use, and is good enough that you will not have to use any guns. It probably is one of the cleanest combat systems of any of the modern 3 person action games. Miles above Assassins Creed or Uncharted.
Loving the game on PS3, but cant wait to play it from the start on PC.

Nixxes said that the game will use only the DRM from Steam, nothing else.

And both should be more like Indiana Jones and play like Indy and Indy should be more like Uncharted and Tomb Raider.
Now the circle is complete.

It's an amazing game and you should play it. I just finished it in a single sitting with 80% completion rate, i think i've been playing for more than 14 hours..

You played for 14 hours? Damn, that's impressive.
The last time I sat down and played anything for 12-14 hours was Knights of the Old Republic 2 back in 2005.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

14 hours? Damn! Even if I'm playing the most interesting and awesome, and well-executed game ever to have been conceived, I can't do more than 3-4 hours straight. I just need to take a good long break from it before I start another run.

When I was younger I could get stuck in some RTS or RPG for hours without knowing ("one more unit" / "one more level" and I'll go to sleep...) but games like this, 2-3 hours max.

Yeah. Times when I was able to spend 30 hours playing morrowind in one sitting or total annihilation etc are over.
Last game Ive finished in 1 sitting was somehow medicore resident evil5 when it came out.
