I am playing the waiting game. Hmm must say the 20 € spend on Minecraft was the best spend money on a game since 2000 or so (mind the fact that there might have been other awesome games but I didn't buy those). I have been disappointed so many times that I bought the WarZ just for fun to see how bad it really was. Perhaps I should check out Darkfall 2...

Assassin Creed 3. Finally took the bloody time to play it. So far, not impressed. Still think that AC2 Saga is better.

Firefall, Tribes, PoE and trying to finish Crysis 3 (it's pretty fucking boring).
Next up is the new AC DLC, and continuing Deep Space 3, where i left off.

i assume you played diablo 2,3, titan quest and torchilghts 1 and 2? how would you rate it compared to those games? asking cause from your posts you seem to love the same games i do
thx |
Being a F2P game actually hinders it IMO. Also while the skills gem system is cool and interesting, they are also really boring, and lacks in pure quantity. |
I would say the opposite, it being a F2P game really makes it a unique experience. the gem system is really brilliant and lets you mix and match the different gems and skill gems to create something unique for your character. Add to that the fact that you can add skill gems to totems so they do elemental damage, heal you etc and you have a game which will keep you busy for a while.
@ Drowning_witch, I've played all those games you mentioned in your post. Id rate path of exile abode all of them, even the might diablo 2. Keep in mind this is my personal preference as I thought D2 was kinda boring in parts, especially the third act. If you're interested in path of exile just try it, its free after all

How does F2P improves it though? I'm curious about your reasoning for it. No modding, no offline single player, towns are still instanced afaik. The always online didn't add anything to the game than what tradtional action RPGs had over the years. From what I have experienced anyways.
The problem I have with skill gems is that they are plain when put next to any other action RPG. Support gems are awesome, but even then, what they do are really plain. Increase accuracy, add elemental damage, etc not very interesting. Firestorm is a channel skill? That had me scratching my head.

^This. I couldn't play Torchlight 2 at launch after many hours in D3. Even though D3 was terrible, the production values are there to feel and see, I was spoiled by it. Until last month, PoE made me want to play TL 2 instead.

To each his own I guess. Its so individual what you prefer and whats important in terms of gameplay and over al feel. I really hated the cartoony feel of torchligt 2. It felt like a watered down, parody of D3. I enjoyed D3 but got bored because the lack of character progression and making unique builds and the RNG.
Path of exile feels more natural to me, I love the flow of combat and the fact that its not over the top blod flowing explosion corpses extravaganza. Oppinions differ, so if you enjoy T2 or D3 more power to you. But dont dismiss PoE just because its free to play. Its got that old school, quality pc game feel. Its got alot of depth and just feels like a very solid albeit still in beta game.
And yeah, PoE is still in beta so alot will and can change until the game is "done". Take that into consideration aswell.

just pulled 6 hours straight of skyrim. felt like 2 hours found the vampiric ring and holy moly is it OP. Only using it when all other approaches fail.
90 hours, and i've only found 3 items added by morrowloot.
Cyrus' saber, Fang of Haynekhtnamet and now the vampiric ring.
what a mod especially lovely is the author's description for the lamer version of the mod, which im not using, of course
how anyone can install the nwah version of the mod after reading the description is a conundrum in itself, and yet 1500 people did
Quote: | Morrowloot takes a bunch of the randomness out of the leveled loot in Skyrim, as well as adding back in a number of artifacts from previous games. In his quest to make the game more Morrowindesque, Trainwiz also removed the ability to craft the high-tier armors.
But in response to making cool, fancy things scarce, some people thought that they should still be able to craft them, despite the fact that they are ancient and difficult to craft, and the fact that their Dovahkiin spent all of two days hammering together leather straps to become a 'master'. So to appease the s'wits and n'wahs out there who think that they should get special things because they're the Dragonborn, here you go: Morrowloot with crafting intact. Instead of a carefully crafted experience, you get a carefully crafted experience with an important balancing component carved right out. It's not like Skyrim is particularly hard in the first place. And if you like playing it you almost certainly like exploring. So why do you want to make exploring less rewarding?
It's because you're a spear-biting milk drinker. By downloading this file you agree that you're a wuss who doesn't want a more thoughtful experience, that you don't care about a believable world, you just want to be able to make shinies, and that you're a n'wah who takes the easy way instead of the better way.
So download the file. Don't challenge yourself. Don't fret about exploration, you can sit in Whiterun and farm everything you want. Because that's fun. Right? Getting what you want right away, that's what makes things fun? Push button, get awesome? That always makes for the best games.
Because what Morrowind really needed was a way for you to find the Daedric armor without doing all that boring game playing.
You baby. |

Eve online is a game I tried to love on so many different occasions. I was in the beta way back when it was released and have tried playing it over the years. The idea is really good but its one of those things where you cant just log on and play for a bit, its such a time sink and you have to invest alot of time into it.
How do you play and how long have you played eve?

It can indeed eat your time up, like any mmo. But lvl4 missions can be done in 30mins sometimes, and even if i have to leave i just log out and can restart the mission the next day... still get the rewards for the pirates ive already shot.

I've had en eve account since 2004. Subbed for about 6-7 times, and each time for about 2-3 months. Don't have a lot of time so I end up doing missions over an over. Usually a hour and a half session. But I get bored after about a month, sub for two more months because I want to level my skills and forget about it.
Then end up subbing again in a year, and so it repeats. Latest attempt I tried mining, hoping I could play a bit more since that wouldn't require me actively playing as much, but ended up unsubbing in the end as well.
I like the game mechanics but missioning/mining is so boring and I don't have time to invest into the really fun stuff, so it just ends up being a grind for me.
