It's simple: if people enjoy the game... let them instead of always pounding them with the EA hate? EA sucks we all know it, doesn't mean everything is bad in a game just because it has EA written on it.
I'm not just complaining about EA, I'm complaining about the game as well. I just made a post detailing several specific issues with the game itself.
The point was, all the bad things that pretty much anyone with two braincells to rub together can agree are bad for this game, we've got these two in here either trying play them down or spin them as a positive. It's one thing to enjoy a game, its another to spend time making several posts trying to defend the same universally reviled feature. I think silent lurker was on his third rehash of "it's all about play styles and I just love the the medium sized map" before I called him out as coming across as a shill. If you want to talk about repetitive behaviour.

I cannot, even though I should, see the huge erroneous and blatant issues with the game because of my lack of brain cells to rub, that I have known is a problem of mine, for some time now.
Also my opinion of the game holds no merit, as the majority of SC fans disagree, and hence, I am not one but only a want to be fan that's giving true fans a bad name, and for this I am deeply sorry.
I now see that crossmr viewpoint hold more merit, validity, and truthful foundation than my own on this subject matter, and embarrassingly admit the error or my arguments I held and declare any further inquiry into the games enjoyably to be directed to crossmr in the future, as mine has been shown to be moot in point and basis by being tainted with shill glasses.

Also I never said I love SC5 minimap size, I just meant that if the quality of the rest of the game and if region management is done correctly map size shouldn't be a problem.

Well for me its not about EA coming up with a way to make sure everyone buys it. Its the fact that they have it locked down. Imagine its the best game ever and sells millions. Once EA gets your money, they dont care about you. The only concern is to come up with ways to keep you paying. And with server support being manditory, there will always be a cost from EA just to keep the game playable. So say millions buy it, then what? Once sales fall off, EA will be spending more than they are making. Like I said millions playing, but no one buying anymore. Thats a danger, and is bad for gaming, period. The days of paying once then playing for years are coming to an end. Another reason for the lockdown is to control added content, because thats their long term strategy to keep money coming in. It will only work and contune down this path if people buy into it. It should be an utter failure.
I missed out on SimCity 4 back in the day but grabbed it super cheap during the Christmas sale on Steam. I'm pretty hooked now, and it has definitely caused me to look into purchasing this one.
All that having been said (and all the apparent downfalls of this new one aside), this is EA - so I know that if I take the plunge and purchase I'm going to be forced to spend not $60, but SEVERAL HUNDRED dollars down the line to get the all but limitless expansions/stuff packs/time period skins, and whatever else shit they're going to pump out a year or two after release.
I'm the kind of person that likes to play something in its entirety or not at all. It's a strange kind of compulsion I have, one that has kept me from purchasing several titles that I enjoyed in the past (Dragon Age, Mass Effect series) simply due to all the nickle-n-dimed DLC (however worthless it may have been). That's not to say I'm stupid enough into being suckered into buying it all, but well, there are other means.
So yea, when push comes to shove I think I'll just miss out on this one like I did the last, for better or worse, though certainly better for my pocket book.
