I liked Vista, but the moment I tried Win7 I was sure I would never go back to Vista, since Win7 runs better and has everything I need.

If you use start8 the differences between W7 and 8 are pretty minimal, and in that regard it's probably not worth 'upgrading' to it. I do like a few of the new things though, things unrelated to the horrible tablet UI that's been shoehorned into the OS.
That boot time reason is hilarious though. Imagine saving a couple of seconds in booting the PC to be hindered at every 2nd turn once you're in the OS, where actions take seconds longer every time you need to do them |

I decided it was time to buy a legit version of OS software, 8 was cheaper then 7 so I got it. Been ok for me, dont use Metro.
