Yep. A DX11-only game.

The performance is a but worse than I expected.
Stays around 35-80 (indoors) on high settings with couple options turned to very high on 1080p.
I am doing constant 60 on very high on 720p... but I just cant play on 720p anymore:p 1080 is 2x slower tho

Does it always crash on the second mission? Or is it random?

Ha. Then after they crack it, they release a patch to fix the FPS issue and we're all fucking again for a week while Raloudid sorts it out.

I played through the first mission, it's not too bad.
The super serious opening and Psycho raging at the screen made me laugh.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Not sure where to start with this, the fact that you were questioning him on something that you were probably wrong about and you're now telling me 'so what', that the power of Crysis lies within 'gameplay' when the entire first level is a corridor (with following areas being only small arenas), or the graphics are only marginally better than that of C2 yet the performance hit seems to have increased two fold
Any way bro', story != dialog |
Marginaly better? I have Crysis 2 using maldohd4, crysis 3 looks a LOT better.
There's nothing wrong with the basic story of crysis 3, noir the 2nd one. But downloading a game and then continue to complain about ONE sentence, that's just silly. Hence my retort "it's a game".
tonizito wrote: | "It's a videogame!" should never be an excuse for passable characters, plot, etc.
It's complete rubbish to see devs, publishers and fans still using lazy excuses like that one. |
It's Crysis 3, a sequel to crysis 2 which had a very basic plot. If you buy a game and the first thing that bothers you is a line from a soldier, you shouldn't be playing the game at all.
Read a book instead.

I'll know better after I actually play it but yes, I'm expecting the same "quality" of Crysis 2 in those areas.

First level with a 2500k @ 5ghz, GTX480 SLI runs mostly 60fps vsync'd with some drops to 50's if you don't count the swaying ropes fps bug, 1080p 1xSMAA very high all except shadows on medium.
The shadow setting is a good way to boost performance with little effect on graphics quality. It only seems to affect shadow resolution and SSAO type/samples. It doesn't seem to actually remove any shadows or SSAO by dropping to medium. Shadows are still nice and smooth and there's no blockiness.

The newest WHQL drivers, boosted FPS shiloads on my brothers rig (had some old ass drivers on 660ti). Runs now pretty much all the time 60fps @ 1080p High settings.

1080p and high preset, VSYNC off, Smaa 1X. 660ti is heavily overclocked tho (1.25Ghz).

This. I'm using 67, found it to be a good compromise.

Is it just my PC or the game has a lot of framerate drops? The framerate seems to be decent enough. It even goes into the 50s sometimes, but it's not constant and that makes the game feel really bad. The game looks great even on medium though, which is pretty much what I settled for. I tried different combinations, but this seems to be the best compromise for my quite aged PC.
As for FOV, it's perfectly fine on 80 too, but I left it at 70 with 80 for the gun.

Yeah I just tried and it's not as bad as I thought but it depends a lot on the actual weapon model used, looks pretty odd with the Scarab rifle or bow for example as they are so far out though the pistol or SCAR rifle works OK.
