I'd buy this on pre-order, like I did when I cracked, gave in and bought Crysis 2 last time round. Got new hardware so would like to see what they've done with the engine since, and I'm rather fond of crysis sandbox too.
Except paying 40 quid for a PC game really irks me no end. Everywhere seems to be pushing the hunter edition for £35-40 which is taking the piss for just a few skins and MP unlocks. Gonna wait and probably pick up a standard edition if there's no iso demo available upon release date. Crysis mp doesn't interest me too.

The mp is very good, crytek put some good effort in it, they already released a patch based on the beta feedback.
Thats why the SP is much shorter then crysis 2.
Hmmm... from what I experienced in the alpha/beta it was the same mindless running/shooting/camping as any COD game. Unless the final release has something new or a different feeling in the MP I won't be playing it.
He's right though. I dont know why exactly, but the modern games try too hard to look photorealistic. Most likely it's because you don't have depth perception when it's projected on 2D screen. I often have quite a hard time spotting enemies in these "modern" shooters (crysis, bf3, etc.), especially at greater distances. In real life, however I have no problem to distinguish people even at great distances. I also have no such problems with camera-shot footage either- and that's projected on 2D monitor as well.
So it's hard to say what is the cause, but the fact is I much prefer multiplayer shooters to be more basic - like Counterstrike, TF2, CoD1/2, etc.
Lens flare aside, BF3 graphics are pretty clear while still being approaching the photorealism. All in all, much superior to the crap COD brings every year.
I agree though, that Crysis 3 advanced graphics aren't the best suited for mindless multiplayer gun-and-run gameplay a-la-COD. If it were up to me I would have ditched the mp component completely and focus only on single player.
So Crysis 3 went the way Crysis 2 CODish MP went, instead of actually going the easiest and the most awesome way you could, that is, Crysis 1 MP.
Crysis 1 MP was the best FPS MP i have ever seen, it had really big maps, vehicles, big gun variety, good leveling system.
But i guess being all good and stuff is too mainstream, so instead, they made another COD clone, as if the second Crysis game was not fail enough, fuck logic.

i would bet that Nomad will appear in rumoured Story DLC
Apparently his story is explained in a comic book, (i found out on Crysis wikia) but i'm kinda hoping they'd ignore that story and added something about him in Crysis 3. I mean, how are people to find out, I didn't knew anything about this comic book before. (lame explaining his story like this btw.)
