Holy fuck did they really released this game on Xbox360, and NOT on PC with low min requirements, while i do agree we begged for better textures and such, its pretty retarded that we dont get the choice.

But meh, i didnt really liked Crysis 2, will check it out after i buy a new rig Smug
My GTX 260 isnt what it used to be 3 years ago, what a surprise Shocked

Actually their requirements are low.

The game requires at least a GTS 450, a card that runs Crysis 1 (everything maxed, no AA) @10-20fps. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/09/13/nvidia-geforce-gts-450-review/5

Hardly a beast of a card.

They merely chose to spent their time and money to optimize for one API (DX11), that is also the most optimized by itself. But the minimum requirements in terms of horsepower are not high.

I'm sure they didn't optimize for DX9 at all. Pffchh

Ok, it's official, this is the first game ever that causes my cpu to bottleneck my gpu Razz

It's the first time ever I see all my four cpu cores constantly at 98-99%.

Looks like the time to upgrade cpu/mobo/ram is approaching fast.

It doesnt change the fact that making a DX11 only game on PC is plain retarded move, they are cutting out huge group of people that have DX 9/10 cards and could buy the game and still play it in some medium settings. I know my gtx260 isnt top notch but until now I could play every game that came out easily and I know people with even older pcs than me that liked crysis games quite a lot and they would probaby buy crysis 3 and play it in 20-25 fps but I see crytek doesnt like money lol

Well they like money (Console *cough* *cough*). And DX10 only game on Vista Halo was also exclusive to OS/DX, and by that time having a DX10 card was a blessing.

They're a really talented studio when it comes to making the games look pretty.
Why some other company that at least knows how to make good games who can use the engine can't do it is a shame. Sad

Sadly most devs can't afford the "fuck it we'll develop with the best HW in mind" attitude Crytek can afford due to their name/rep/fame.

Most do not have the tech expertise either. Most studios do not even develop their own engine.

Don't you get extensive support when you license an engine? I thought that was the thing with licensing, get a good engine and you won't hve much technical problems.
