I’m quite familiar with the controversy over Dead Space 3 and the issue of horror versus action. Generally speaking, the scarier a game is the less empowered a player feels. Controls are often clunky on purpose, and the pacing is quite different from an action movie. It feels as if Visceral consciously gravitated the franchise more towards the “action” elements over the “suspense/horror” ones, and I’m quite okay with that. We look at the target audience for your average console game and it’s often a cocky young male who doesn’t want to be scared, unfortunately, he’s the guy who wants to get in and “fuck shit up.”

I liked DS1 most, it's nice that you can backtrack much more in this one. Still WTF is with save system, it wont record any side mission, i was doing conning tower last night, and now i'm at the tram....
also I noticed that i can craft Planet Cracker Frame, but when i did, it didn't appear on the list (still have 0 of those) is it some glitch ?? it took my tungsten
Your insults will do nothing to blunt the agonies of your demise.
This game is UNDERRATED (or it gets much worse in second half).
I am enjoying it as much as I did 1 or 2 (1 was more scary tho).
I mean. It have great producton values, music, GRAPHICS (really like what they did in snow planet level (where I am now) especially)
Sure it is an action fest but so was Dead Space1 and 2 mostly.
As for now it is a solid 8,5/10 game. It kinda reminds me of Event Horizon and The Thing.
Also. I am playing it with 360 controller but it feels so much better than any game on 360 in terms of responsivenes. vsync on, triple buffering on and forced framerate of 59 does the job on most games so it does on this one.

Yes, Action Space 1, that great action fest from 2008

People seem to forget that Dead Space 1 was horror game for like first hour and then it was just Doom3. I would put all 3 games on the same space with only tone changing together with story (and money)
DS1 is still scariest but it is not a fucking amnesia or silent hill. It is still a doom3 like game.

Yeah sure and I would even add that survival aspect is totally removed in 3 but still. Reviews are too harsh. The games does great what it does. it just isnt survival horror anymore (tho it have good atmosphere and some scares)

And it deserves the lower scores it's getting since it's plot, characters and dialogs are utter shit.
The other games were better in all those, even if they weren't anything out of the ordinary.
In this one is stupid dialog after stupid decision after stupid plot element after stupid dialog, etc. Everything else is as good as the others (maybe a little more linear even with the "side missions").

Characters are good?
The passive-agressive jealous pussy guy?
Elliashley from ME3 with big gazongas and puffed lips?
"Idon'tcar(v)e(r) man!"?
Genius engineer guy that dies of cold a few meters away from a building with a heater?

I am not saying about the "characters characters as ehmmm.... as who they are".
I am talking about presentation, animations and voice over.
I've already said that they are rather dumb anyway.

Those were as good as the other two games (except for the weird black chick ), but at least the characters on the other two games felt more fleshed out.
Most of them anyway, here except for Isaac there's no one.
But finish the game.
The "best" is yet to come.

Well KC loves Gears of War so it's natural that he's enjoying the atmosphere and bro-characters of this one as well
At least the gameplay mechanics are still fundamentally entertaining, but the rest..it's really some C-movie material. (still not as cheesy as Colon Marines..but close enough! )
Don't even compaer Gears of War characters to ds characters!!!!
Blasphemer ! Bro stuff can be done right. ds3 don't even try.
Gears of war trilogy is beloved by me for everything this gen. atmopshere, gameplay, graphics, characters, plot (very complex lory) etc Still. I like gow1 most but characters stay the same for all 3 games (Dominic noooo !!!!)
Still. King of atmosphere is The Darkness1 and king of characters ... besides above, RDR and Mass Effect 1 and 2.

All releases are Limited Editions (i think). But this is not the problem- the problem is that there is no way to unlock and use them on cracked version...
well, finally beat it, enjoyed it all the way through, even thought the story wasn't as good as the first two, and the horror/scary/creepy aspect wasn't really there all that much either. I honestly enjoyed it. Good trilogy, if there no no 4th one and this is how the series ends.... I'm ok with that, satisfied.

Even the atrocious cover based human opponents?
Those and the silly "villain" brought the 2nd part of the game down for me.
A shame, because the first part was as good as the previous two games, aside from the human opponents on the first level.

I loved the game as well but I hope they don't leave it there with the last titbit we get after the credits. Seeing as how this is selling worse than DS2 though I wouldn't count on a sequel.

Ya the human enemies were kind of bleh, quick headshot and they're down though, easy peasey. The silly villian ya lol... ok I'll give you that one
Still enjoyed it though

Me too, but the lame human enemies were weak... they could have used something like newly necromorphed humans/unitology nuts beeing the most dangerous enemies somehow.
Make them ultra fast AND with guns or something like that but no, instead the new enemy type we get are the lamest of them all

Well, I finally finished the second game. It was quite awesome, I must say. The only things that really bothered me were the different bugs, all of them really annoying (endless loading after deaths, plasma cutter disappearing after deaths, doors refusing to open). They made me drop the difficulty to normal too since it was getting really frustrating. I didn't have a problem with dying, but more deaths meant an increased chance that those bugs might happen.
