CPU doesnt matter at all in this. Also 7950 seems to perform identically in some benchies than 7970 at same clocks, which is odd considering 7970 has moar coars. Only at very high resolutions starts to show advantage. Im using Phoby heGrease Xtreme and maximum temperature in Prime after several hours is 71 on one core, rest below 70.

intel_NVIDIA, how its not doing well? Still the best score here, also your GTX 670 is clocked to 1.3Ghz which is much faster than stock 680. And about the Xtreme, arctic cooler is labeled like that, so crawle to your nvidia mancave.

Just tried that valley ebnchmark. 33 fps on extreme hd preset.
But I don't like it. Alan Wake looks much better than this

SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"

yes your 7970 is faster, but only by a small margin, not absurd 10-20% faster like you claimed in some of your posts.

I'll join in, with some party pooping. First, quick recap: I'm a very unfortunate guy and have got a pretty terrible sample of GK104. My 680 won't take much of an overclock and to achieve +80@core I already have to add 50 mV. For +120, which is the maximum I can get to, it takes a full 100 mV. Memory I don't have to try to overclock, I won't get past a 20 MHz increase.
End result:
Spoiler: | |
That's right. Less than Intel_NVIDIA's result. MSI AB to go with it:
However, what these two shots don't show you, is the horrible fucking microstuttering I get when I have both of my monitors plugged in. This is to be expected though, given how bad Nvidia are with multiple monitors: can't span across just 2 monitors, secondary monitor randomly blanks out during games and it generates a "wanna disable Aero?" warning with every single fucking game. So, with the second one unplugged, gone is the microstuttering. Results of that (note how the power draw/usage is more consistent here as well as my minimum magically doubling) below - still worse than Intel_NVIDIA's result because he got so lucky on his sample and can actually overclock 3 times as much as I can with a supposedly "better" chip
I really should just get some frametimes done with Fraps when using single or dual monitors to see just how drastic it is, because it's absolutely horrible at times. Fortunately BF3 is relatively unaffected, which is what I play the most. Still seriously considering making it a habit to unplug the second monitor from now on though.
Spoiler: | |
Edit: also at Unigine attempting to detect GPU stats. Valley displays 1282 MHz on my core when it's still just 1162, meaning they MANUALLY add the POTENTIAL +120 Boost for some reason (which I don't get anyway). Then for the memory for some reason they display twice the actual speed; four times would've made sense because GDDR5 has a quadrupled data rate, but twice?

I can say that in games like BF3 etc.. @ 2560x1440 7970 is much faster. Trust me, since i had 1.3Ghz clocked GTX 670.

Nope
4.0 makes my 680 crap out at +100mV/+115MHz already
